The DSi is a very portable and well designed system. If you travel a lot and get bored on road trips and car drives this is definitely the system for you. With the Nintendo DSi Sound Channel you can record your voice and manipulate it which is a very cool feature, and you can also download music onto it, which I think was very complicated because I have MP3 files so I had to convert the song files but now I figured it out. The camera actually has very good resolution surprisingly! The effects you can do to the pictures is also very cool and entertaining. The screen size is very noticeable with the fourth of an inch added to it. The sound speakers also are very noticeable in a good way. The internet browser is surprisingly faster than I would imagine, too! The only bad part about the internet browser is that it has a low memory source, so you can go on most websites but not all and you can't watch videos because it doesn't have Adobe Flash Player. So overall if you like good portable systems this is no doubt this is the system for you! The only feature I would add would have to be a video taking feature to take videos because they already have the cameras. This is a very good system and it is worth the ****, so if you like good systems that are also very portable this would have to be the system for you!

Simply Amazing!

I just got my new DSi today and it is awesome. This system has to be the best hand held system on earth, and don't forget, at sch a great price. The only bad thing is the picture quality, but its still fun to play on the camera and alter pictures. Many people are mad that there is no GBA slot anymore, but guys come on. The GBA stage is old, we need to upgrade. Nintendo also said that they will probably put GB/GBA games for sale in the DSiWare shop soon. Also Nintendo will be making games specific for the DSi that will include the camera so there is another reason to buy it, awsome new games. Many people also say that it has slow internet, it doesn't, it all depends on what type of router and how far away you are from a router, and you can on almost any website. So overall this is the best and i highly reccomend this to you!

When the Nintendo DS Lite was release in 2006, it was an amazing system. Compacting the functions of the Nintendo DS into a smaller, better version. The cosmetic changes were what set the Lite apart from the Original. Nintendo once again has taken a step further to its flagship DS. Although the cosmetic changes are not noticeable, (slightly lighter, thinner, long in width, etc.) the changes within the system are what make the DSi an awesome system. Design: Nintendo did an amazing job in the area. The system is small and fits right into your pocket (I formally had a DS original so there was a huge difference) and the ergonomics of the system are more user friendly. The power button has been moved inside the system thus preventing accidental turn offs/on as the DS lite did. The screens have been bumped up to 3.25 inches which may not seem big on paper but when playing games, it does make a difference. The two cameras, located inside the hinge and outside the system fit right into the matte black. Additionally, this matte finish does not allow fingerprints as the glossy DS lite did which keeps the system looking new all the time. The surface easily removes minor scratches and feels comfortable in your hands. Though these are minor changes they are changes for the better. Functionality: Nintendo really stepped up the functionality of the system with the addition of the music player, (only plays AAC. iTunes can easily convert all you Mp3 songs to AAC so no sweat here.) camera, and free downloadable web browser that actually is useable. (unlike the DS/DS lite browser) Although this all sounds great, there are a few things that could have made each one of these new features better. Let’s start with the camera; two VGA 0.3 mega pixels cameras. Many people have been complaining of the quality of these cameras saying .3 mega pixels is not enough. To clarify things up for potential buyers, the number of mega pixels only represents the size of the photos not the quality. Considering that the resolution of these photos is double the size of the DSi’s screen this .3 mega pixel is plenty. The quality of these photos is about the same if not better than camera phones but serious photography is not what Nintendo intended the cameras to be. The ability to Photoshop the images is where it’s at. This by itself can get you hooked as you try to turn your friends into alien heads or sunflowers using the crazy editing tools. The laughs and fun from the camera is always good to have around but remember that the camera is not intended for serious photography. The music player has a ton of features. Like I mentioned before only AAC files can be played which although isn’t that big of a deal, it still takes some time. Nintendo should have just changed the DSi to be compatible with MP3 the common format of music. With that aside the music player is great. You don’t just listen to your music, you play with your music by adjusting the pitch, speed, etc. This can be fun especially if you want to hear the chipmunk version of every song you have :P I also have to mention that the sound is great and of high quality a big step up from its predecessors. Additionally, you can make your music sound like its coming from the radio or a tunnel. There are countless other features. The bottom line here though is that don’t expect your DSi to replace your iPod. The DSi doesn’t have a high enough volume when riding buses or other noisy areas which makes your softest songs unhearable. Finally, the web browser: it’s a step up to the old one but it still isn’t at super high speeds. At least the web browser is usable on the DSi and free (via DSi shop download) which certainly beats 30 dollars and unbearably slow speeds. Also, at the moment, the DSi does not support flash so no Youtubing as of now. (Nintendo may make an update available like the Wii) With all these new features, Nintendo has taken a new step into the multimedia world. The applications aren’t the greatest but c

One of the best systems made so far!
PostedApril 15, 2009
I`ve had the dsi for a few days and I can already say that its one of the best systems so far. It is not very different from the ds lite but it`s worth buying. It is like half ds and half wii. When you first open it you could already tell the difference from the lite. It is thinner than the ds lite and lighter. The plastic it`s made of is different material so no more fingerprints. And if you get a scratch on it you can just rub it off. When you open it you notice right away that the screens are bigger. You might not get used to it so quickly because the power button is next to the screen and the volume button on the side of the dsi. The dsi has the same games as the other ds systems. The graphics are no different. Sounds are the same too. The dsi camera is the main feature of the dsi. The camera isn`t the best quality but it`s really good for being the first time on a ds. The camera is even better than some cameras on cell phones. When you take pictures you can mess around with them like change the color. You can also use the distortion lens which lets you twirl, shrink, expand, and much more. There you can put mustaches, put color, or see the resemblance between two people. It tells you if your cousins, related, unrelated, etc. Another feature of the dsi is nintendo sound. There you could record ten seconds of your voice. Then you could change the tone. You could also add effects like make the voice like a parakeet, robot, trumpet, etc. If you have an sd card with music you could change the tones or add the effects. The dsi shop is almost the same as the wii shop. You have to add dsi points to buy the games. There are few apps at the beginning but the first one you should get is the browser. It`s not fast but not slow either. You can check mail and most sites without videos. Actually, I`m writing from my dsi. So what I`m trying to say is that I highly recommend the dsi and suggest you buy it.
