YOU DON"T NEED TO KNOW MY NAME!!!
Totally Worth It
PostedApril 6, 2009
To begin with, I want to make something very clear: I am a HUGE Nintendo fan. The first video game I ever played was Super Mario 64, I currently own a Wii and a Nintendo DSi, I am a member of Club Nintendo, and the only real non-Nintendo game that I really play is Halo on my computer. I'm not saying that you shouldn't trust my review, but I would like readers to know that, in instances where I'm gushing about the system so much that it's sickening, it might be my inner Nintendo-ness shining through. So, let's get started...I think that I should get my first complaint about the DSi out of the way right now: There's no Gameboy Advance slot, and if you're a hardcore GBA game player, I would actually suggest that you stick with a DS Lite or a standard DS for a little while. The extra features of the DSi do make up for this loss, though, and there have been rumors that the Nintendo DSi shop will have Gameboy, Gameboy Color, and Gameboy Advance games available for download, but until such rumors are proven or dismissed, I would recommend people to hold off, read on, and decide if you may want to wait and see.To make up for that complaint, I'm going to say one thing: The Nintendo DSi is like no other portable Game system that has ever been made. While it has features reminiscent of the PSP, like a photo viewer, internal memory, and a music player, the DSi also includes a voice recorder, sound editing software, photo editing software, a camera with multiple effects, an online software shop that has some nice games available right away, and a free internet browser. The system also allows you to exit games and go to the menu without having to shut off the system and then turn it back on. The DSi will also allow players to switch out game cards while in the menu, without the need to shut off and restart the system. There are volume buttons, instead of the usual volume slider. Even though the big additions and the little touches make the DSi a dream to use, the system has some little faults that can subtract from the performance. The internet browser is agonizingly slow on big sites, although it is useful for viewing smaller sites, like Google. Also, I had trouble with two of the camera effects, and I think that the system needs a little more memory to back up its functions. Also, the DSi has around 14 hours of battery life, which is less than the DS Lite.In conclusion, I will say that the Nintendo DSi is an excellent system, with tons of great features, and is definitely worth every penny. Nintendo has produced a system with a sense of touch, a sense of sound, and a sense of sight, and it's nothing short of brilliant. I wholeheartedly recommend the Nintendo DSi to anyone who likes portable game systems, and to anyone who likes to be on the cutting edge of technology. The DSi is fresh, fun, and fantastic. The Nintendo DSi earns a 10 out of 10.

Dsi

I LOVE IT. I have had my Dsi for a day or so now, and what can i say besides GENIUS. I have finished putting my music onto a SD card. Guys if you have itunes which im sure many of you do just transfer your files from there but make sure it is in AAC format. Once put on to your DS you can mix the songs with recordings, add your own beat to it! Me and my dad where here cracking up at the FUN you have with this beautiful piece of gaming. The only downside is the internet doesn't fully work yet, and the shop is limited. BUT hey you can't have everything. The first thing i noticed was the larger screen although it doesn't seem like a big improvement but it is. All else to say is if you don't get one your missing out big time. so BUY IT, Either colour doesn't matter,

Why DSi? Look inside!
PostedApril 6, 2009
Just picked up the Nintendo DSi yesterday and it is exactly what Nintendo promised us. The camera is a very interesting addition to put on a video game system, but it worked out perfectly. The DSi sound is also a fun tool to use to make your voice sound hilarious. I absolutely love the SD card card slot because now I can listen to my music and hold extra memory! Even though the camera is low resolution, it doesn't matter because there are so many neat things you can do to distort the picture. Hopefully Nintendo will find a way to incorporate the camera in a game and make that work together somehow. Nintendo is just full of great ideas like that. Being that this is the third edition of the DS it looks that Nintendo will be leaving handheld alone for quite sometime. But it doesn't matter because the DSi is the best looking handheld system out there. The larger screens, patted surface, and great sound quality make it inevitably the best. Plus the infinite library that the Nintendo DS acquired helps too. If you're just jumping in this revolution Nintendo is producing in the video game world, then the DSi is a must buy. The added applications are nice, but if you already have a DS Lite, consider before getting. Remember future DS games will work for both, so it is not necessary to upgrade. Unless Nintendo starts to make games that include the camera which I hope they do soon. Then obviously you can't use it on the DS Lite. Besides from my theory on that stick to whatever is comfortable to you. The Nintendo DSi is amazing and hopefully this review explained why! Thanks for reading!

Not Bad

I was really excited to get my new DSi and now that I have it, I am pleased. However, there are some things that I found disapointing with it. For example its great that it has 2 cameras, but the quality of them is very poor. When I take pictures they're blury and choppy. But its great being able to distort your pictures and have fun with them. Other then the camera quality being poor I think the system is great, but not really anything too exciting I would really only recommend the DSi to people that havent already owned a DS because even though I am glad I got one, Im not sure going through the trouble of trading in my old DS lite and still making payments was really worth it. Not to mention you cannot play your old GBA games on the DSi. Also there should of been more then just 2 colors released for the system, instead of just black and an ugly blue color.
