Garbage

This is what nintendo calls the next era of gaming? well I disagree. When i bought this product i thought "OMG this will be awesome!" Then when i got home and turned it on, my opinion instantly shifted. most ppl think because of its "stylish" look, it will be awesome. but its really just the same as any old DS, but with features riped from the PSP (btw i HIGHLY recommend the PSP 3000). The camera has poor quality and all the games had the samekind of graphics as the DS. The music you can put on an SD card requires a special format and SD card to actually make it work on the DSi. Pls the shop just has a bunch of garbage minigame titles. Would i say go for the DSi? No. Would I go for the PSP 3000? yes. it is by far a much better product and if u are age 8 and up, go for it!!!!

Ok, there are like a million things wrong with what you wrote. First of all, just because it has music playback doesn't mean it ripped the psp (and yes I have had one. Pretty terrible) And thats pretty much the only thing it "stole". And the poor cameras that it comes with, are actually ON the thing. For a psp, you have to either go to japan, or buy invizimals to get one, then you have to remember to plug it in, and not only that, almost everyone already has a camera in some form, so who cares if it is less than half a megapixel. And this "special format" is AAC, which is extremely easy to get. Download iTunes for free, click the "make an AAC version" and copy and paste to your card, on a card reader which also is real easy to get. And yes the graphics aren't the best, but they are only a little better on the PSP. On the upside cartridges take WAAAAAY less time to load. And btw, the minigame titels on PSN suck. The only kind of good one was the airhockey and bowling one. And if you are age 1-12, you just shouldn't buy a PSP. The DS is very durable, and the game cards can get washed (sometimes I would put them in with my jeans on purpose to see what would happen). But the psp discs get scratched easy, and the little plastic case they need to be in can break easy. And the door is made of the flimsiest plastic EVER! And my disc drive stopped working after two and a half months. And not only that, I dropped it twice. The screen hasn't worked since. All the DS's that ive seen have been dropped a million times and still work. Now i'm a teenager. How long do you think an 8 year old would have one? Who knows maybe I got a bad one, but if the drive fails after 2 months something is wrong, but my DS never failed me like that.

Well Worth Your Money

The Nintendo DSi is a great system. The price is right, the downloadable games are fantastic, and it's just plain awesome. This is the first of the DS line that I have owned, and let me say I'm glad I got this over the DS Lite.
First off, let's start with the DSi Photo application. In short, it's great. The cameras work wonderfully, and they take suprisingly good pictures for being only around 0.3 Megapixels. Some of the picture modes that require face regonition, however, don't work very smoothly.
Next, let's move to the DSi Sound app. This one's just plain fun. Recording sounds and messing with the pitch and speed is enjoyable, but some of the sound filters (specifically the buzzer) don't really work unless the entire sound clip is really loud.
Finally, we'll talk about the DSi Shop. All but one of the DSiWare games I've downloaded have been worth the DSi Points. The quality the games in the Shop have reached is outstanding. I would easily pay the price of a game card for most of the games I've downloaded.
To sum it all up, the DSi is a great system. I would highly reccomend buying it if the 3DS wasn't coming out in two months. I would suggest just saving your money for the 3DS, which is going to have all of the DSi's features. But, if you need to buy a portable system now, the DSi is the way to go.

if you even have a ds lite, you should get one of these even if you never use the cameras. the first thing about this is it's thinner and more comfortable to hold. the stylist is longer and thinner, and the screens are brighter. you can also download games from the dsi store. there are some problems though, there are no enhanced graphics, expensive downloadable games take up a lot of memory, and there is no way to put game save data onto an sd card and play games. other than that, this is a great system to try

This is a GREAT system - Do not buy the XL. One thing bad about this : The L and R buttons break kinda easy. Although, all the capabilities make up for the button-breaking stuff.
