DSi lover and owner
I LOVE IT!!!!
PostedJune 13, 2009
My DSi is my new favorite thing to play around with. I love doing pictochat, games, shopping, and ESPECIALLY the pictures. I thought the camera would be totally lame, but it turned out being amazingly decent. I mean, it's not the BEST camera in the world, but it's pretty good for a game system. Just putting a camera in would have been cool, but the best part about it is all the little functions and choices and things you can do to the pictures. I figured out how to make and do all sorts of stuff. Also, the sound recordings you can put on are cool, but what makes them even better is all the different ways you can alter them and mess around with them. The screens are only .25 inches bigger, which doesn't seem like a lot, but in reality, it is MUCH better. The one down side is that you can't play game boy games in it, but that's not really a down for me, because I never even played one in my DS. The DS lites are pretty good, so if you have game boy games and like to play them, I suggest that you just stick with the DS lite. Sure, the DSi is better, but would I pay to get it if I can't play some of my games in it? probably not. It's not THAT much better. I think the whole SD card thing is pretty cool, but I haven't tried it out yet. this is a big plus for the DSi, because if you can't store all the pictures or sounds or whatever that you want, you can always get more space with the SD cards. The storage is unlimited with them. The graphics are pretty good, but if I had to pick one thing about the DSi to comment about, it'd probably be the graphics. They're good, but out of design, functionality, performance, sound and graphics, the graphics are the worst. over all, i LOVE my DSi, and it's a great new system!

Going to trade back to the DS Lite...
PostedJune 11, 2009
My 11-year-old son and I excitedly pre-ordered our DSi's and traded up our beloved DS Lites..... we even stood in line at midnight to go pick them up at our local store when they came out (madness!). We were both SO excited about the camera and music features, and wi-fi access. We're a household of 2 Wii's (previously Gamecubes), and 3 DS's (previously Gameboys). Nintendo has NEVER let us down... until now.Initially, the built-in camera and sound features are really cute. But really, this isn't going to replace my digital camera... the poor-quality, silly images I capture and distort (and yes, they are fun to distort!) aren't going to end up on my facebook page anytime soon. My 8-year-old had tons of fun recording his voice and making new sounds with it. It was pretty funny... for about 5 minutes. Additionally, we've had nothing but problems connecting these to our wireless internet. My techie-genius-husband couldn't figure it out after spending an entire weekend trying. We've called Nintendo for help, and gone through every FAQ and help forum with a fine-toothed comb, and NOTHING can get our systems past our password-protected server. Such a shame, since the wi-fi was our main reason for upgrading to the DSi in the first place. One of the things we love about Nintendo is that the games are usually backward-compatible. But this is an upgrade from the DS Lite... so there is no GBA slot in the DSi. So not only can you not play GBA games (not a big deal to us... I didn't have any anyway, and my son didn't have any that he ever played), but Guitar Hero on Tour (which my son just got last Christmas) won't work on this system because there's nowhere to plug in the little keyboard thing. In addition to all this, it also has a different type of plug-in, so our DS Lite car charger won't work, and it's a little longer so it won't fit in the case my son had for his DS Lite. All that being said, my son and I plan on taking back our cute little blue DSis back to Gamestop while the trade-in value is still pretty decent and going back to the DS Lite. Sorry, Nintendo... we're NOT impressed this time.

The Nintendo DSI what can i say... its spectatular, amazing, terrific, outstanding, wonderful, great, marvelous just truly exceeds expectations. I myself along with my mom, uncle and sister waited on the 4th of april til midnight for the official release. Since we had pre ordered it we got it at 12 am on april 5th. Since then it has been awesome. DSI sound DSI camera everything amazing. I love to take pictures then put a little speech bubble or take a picture and use the distorition lense to distort it it os hilarious. And on DSI sound at the right moment i was able to record a sneeze and now i can play it and it is funny. With the internet browser i downloaded through the shop channel i was able to go online and while i was in my room go on to dictionary.com and look up definitions of words to help with my homework. That way i don`t even have to get up to be able to find word definitions. That is truly amazing. I previously had a DS lite but the DSI over a million times better. You can`t even compare it to the even older original DS to think we have gone from the DS to the DS lite and now to this wonderful little light weight gaming machine. I am floored at how wonderfully this was created nintendo really outdid themselves this time. And for 169 that is great! I truly do enjoy my DSI and if you are reading this considering well should i get a DSI? I would 100% reccomend you to get a DSI before there are none left so go out and buy yourself a DSI and you won`t regret it and trust me i`m not lying.
