The Next Installment to the Award-Winning RTSWhile many were hopeful that diplomacy would finally end the war, differing opinions on what should be done, along with the depleted power of the controlling factions, has led to a splintering of the groups involved. The loyalist members of the Trader Emergency Coalition adopt a policy of isolation, focusing on enhanced defenses to ride out the rest of the war. Those who rebel against the coalition take on a purely militant view, coming to the opinion that the only way to bring peace is by ultimately crushing all who oppose them - especially xenos. For the first time in their history, the war creates a schism in the Advent Unity. The loyalists seek to continue their policy of revenge against the Traders, and to assimilate all others to the Unity's influence. However, others amongst the Advent suspect that a corrupting influence from within has diverted the Unity from its proper destiny. The divide created in the Vasari Empire is less pronounced, but just as severe to their people. With the Vasari now practically frantic to move on to new space, the loyalist faction abandons cooperation and decides to take the resources they need by any means necessary. Having accepted the need to work together, the rebel faction feels that their best chance for survival is to work with the other races and bring them along to flee the approaching enemy.Take the battle for galactic supremacy to its ultimate level in Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion - a standalone RT4X game that combines the tactics of real-time strategy with the depth of the 4X genre (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate).

This game is awesome!

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers
If you love any kind of complex RTS game, this is the perfect game. Its like a mix of Homeworld (one of the greatest space combat RTS games) and space empires 5. (where you can control, manage, and build ships from planets) I love being able to zoom in on massive battles exceeding 200 ships and watch individual bombers make bombing runs. (A warning to people with bad computers, DO NOT create matches exceeding 2v2 as your computer might catch on fire) There is a massive research tree allowing for tons of upgrades and unlocks. Capital ships also gain experience as they fight, allowing for individual ships to become stronger on their own through unlocking new abilities. The AI in the game have 6 or 7 difficulties making it very easy to step your way up and really get good at the game. As for the length of a whole match, battles can take a very long time, for example a 4v4 I am in the middle of is nearing its end after about 8 hours of game play. But the save game function allows me to play with friends and take breaks through allowing us to simply load the game and continue playing where we left off. I see people complaining about no campaign, and while yes I like playing through them, I find this is more of a sand box game. Casual gamers might however find this to be a little complicated. (just take the tutorial and you shouldn't have many problems.) I would highly recommend buying this expansion set, as the expansions unlock many new ships/factions.
Also, when you go to create your first match, I highly recommend setting ship speed to the maximum settings, as warping between stars can take a very long time otherwise. All in all I give this game a 10/10 for good graphics, high replayability, and addictive gameplay that can be easily shared with friends.
