From Awesome to Awful...
PostedOctober 27, 2012
I received mine and right out of the box it was a hidden blade gun as the blade shot across the room with the first press of the button. I was able to repair that with a dab of glue from a hot glue gun. After one night's use at a halloween party, the thing would no longer retract. I took it home and tried to figure out the issue. I eventually got it to retract, but now it's stuck, retracted. I guess I'm gonna write to NECA and see what they can do for me. All that said, the thing is one of the sweetest accessories I ever owned and I'm so bummed it broke.

Not For the Grown Man
PostedOctober 25, 2012
The hidden blade is cool and all, but surprisingly doesn't fit a full-grown man, especially if you have muscular forearms. Luckily I'm very skinny so it fits nicely, but it's surprising they're only targeting the younger audience. The vambrace (armor) is a separate piece that attaches over and is held by a nice buckle strap. The blade mechanism itself is made of nice, hard plastic, so it doesn't weigh too much. The blade comes out by pressing the button where the pistol mechanism would be on Ezio's actual blade. The blade itself is alright, but often comes out on its own. However it is neatly decorated with designs. Overall, it's not worth the money, and would be cheaper if you were to actually produce one made of leather and thin metal, and then you could also add a real wrist mechanism to pull out the blade.

This is great for cosplayers and collectors.
PostedOctober 23, 2012
You know i am a huge cosplayer... most of my works have been from video games and my most recent was ezio auditore da firenze from assassins creed brotherhood. This prop is amazing, its durable, its realistic to the game and im gonna pick up my second one on the 30th of october. I love the detail. I love the blade itself, yeah you gotta push a button to extend it but its no biggie. One feature i love is the safety. You can lock it so you cant push the button, perfect for playing it off like its broken like i have to. All in all, for you collectors and fellow AC cosplayers get it. 40$ is well worth the money.
