I had never heard of mass effect until 3 came out. After my first play through I knew I had to play the rest of this amazing trilogy. I have honestly never been happier with a set of games. Each one improves on the last. Now just have to wait until number 4

EA has offered us the ultimate gaming bundle since Valve's"The Orange Box" with the release of "The Mass Effect Trilogy". The PS3 edition comes with each of the highest grossing DLC for each respective title. Including a free redemption for the "Mass Effect 3" extended cut. Games included, that's nearly $120 worth of material in a $60 dollar bundle! My recommendation is simple, buy this if you want a franchise that not only keeps you entertained with stunning graphics and smooth gameplay, but one of the most compelling stories in modern sci-fi story telling. For long time fans, re-live gaming's most legendary trilogy as you guide Shepard from humble beginnings to the hero of the galaxy.
Cheers,
The Shadowfox

Perhaps the best video game series of all time. An absolute must have for all RPG players. That being said, there are a few very minor problems, but they in no way diminish the level of these games.
Mass Effect 1 started the gaming world plunging into the saga of Commander Shepard. Combat is slightly clunky in this one, with minor cover issues, and rather aggravating power usage (powers are activated by throwing 'grenades' that when they hit the target go off with the desired effect) Graphics in Mass Effect 1 are slightly dated, though still beautiful. There are moments in the game where you will lose background sound, but never for more then 30 seconds at a time, in one 35 hour play-through, i had this occur a total of 3 times. I believe these problems are due to the fact that the game was originally released on the Xbox, and was 'rushed'.
Mass Effect 2 brought in a far easier way to activate your powers and abilities, as well as making your equipment far easier to use. Instead of wading through menus, and upgrades for each individual piece, your upgrades are automatically applied to all members of your squad, weapons or armor. Character development is very indepth in this one. Each squad member has a Loyalty mission that varies from 25 minutes to an hour long. All of the characters, with the exception of one, in my opinion, are extremely likeable. Replayability is extremely high in this one due to the overarching effects of your decisions having vast repercussions in the grand scheme of the storyline.
Mass Effect 3 tops off the Trilogy with an amazing flourish. Commander Shepards saga comes to an explosive ending, in a drop down, knock out punch that many people never saw coming. In fact the worst thing about this game, I believe, is that it is significantly shorter then Mass Effect 2. This in no way diminishes the quality of the game. The importing feature is a great way to watch the impact of your actions on the Mass Effect universe in-game, as events from Mass Effect 1 and 2 have a real effect on the storyline in Mass Effect 3. The storyline comes to an end with a few questions that still need to be answered.
On the whole, Gameplay ranks among the best of anything I've ever played, Story is top notch, as to be expected of Bioware, Sound is amazing, baring the few instances in the first one. Graphics are top notch, despite the fact that the first two are years old. Replayability is incredible with the broad spectrum of classes, and choices reaching from one game into the next.
If you are looking for a game that is well worth its weight in money, This is a very good investment. Hours upon hours of missions/quests, deeply riveting story and an online community to rival all other major online players. Pick it up. You wont be disappointed.

The wait is over! Since I have abandoned 360 I have been missing ME1. Not only is PS3 FINALLY releasing the beginning to the best deep space story, they have spiffed up the graphics, sound, and overall quality to match ME2 and ME3. Originally I found ME1 beautifully done compared to the other games in it's time, but to match current quality is ideal. This full story will satisfy for a very long time, and hopefully the Mass Effect Trilogy will be DLC compatible to further the depth of the galaxies. WreckingBall of the S.S.V. Normandy, signing off!

Not worth 60 bucks...

Now its fine if you don't have any of them, but for people who have both 2 & 3 well they aren't going to be buying it. If this were 39.99 like it should be then I would pick it up in a heartbeat, but I don't see paying 60 bucks for 2 games that are relatively cheap and 1 that is like 15 on the PSN.

meh I would buy this on my ps3 simply because I can get all 3 and another excuse for me to play the whole series again :P ( own all 3 on my 360 ) but if it doesn't come with all the DLC I don't see the point ( stupid since most other trilogies come with DLC included like the Assassin creed one in Europe comes with all 5 games and the DLC + assassin creed 3 season pass)

This would be a good trilogy but it doesn't include the DLC for ME2 or ME3 I already own the others on my ps3 but not the first game price wise this is a very good deal as with all the other collections

A Great Experience for New Comers

People playing this great Trilogy will enjoy the characters, the worlds and over all gripping excitement that the ME Universe can only bring & deliver. Now with ME 1 being released on the PS3 for the 1st time now newcomers can experience what I have enjoyed over the last couple of years. Easily the enitire Trilogy you can squeeze about 60 to 70hrs including all the DLC. It is unknown what the PS3 version will include but it is somewhat hinted the PS3 ME 1 version will be remastered in HD with a better framerate. Also Trophy Support but it isnt known about the DLC such as BDTS or Pinnacle this could also be the hold up on the PS3 version many including myself say December or Early Jan 13 for the PS3 version. Even though I own the 360 version with all current DLC. I still plan on buying the PS3 version. People you cant go wrong with this all 3 games in one nice package regardless of DLC included it is still a nice chance for new players to play this awesome game. Passionate Fans such as myself will get it anyways so I recommend newcomers to come & tryout the ME Trilogy you will not be disappointed. Also dont forget to DLC the Omega Mission coming soon !!!

And its true everyone it coming for ps3 for DLC if you buy this game than you will get a code for the 1st game. But on the other hand for those people who are itchy for this game its going to be on ps3 network on November 7 2012. So now for 2 and 3 they were very good games but without Mass Effect the game took people to get an Xbox 360 but I didn't want to get an 360 I am a very love with ps3 so when this game come out I am going to buy it for dlc but December 30 2012 that not the real release date that what I heard so go get some Reapers everyone.

I am experienced in all 3 ME games. The first one is very easy , I can beat it in under 4 hours. If you need help with Saren in the end get the shotgun from the bottom of your ship. The 2nd and 3rd as are the same but ALL 3 are so terrific . However I did not know ME came out for the PS3? Microsoft finally gave rights?? If so Id be happy to trade in ME2 and ME3 for the trilogy.

You won't believe how bad I've wanted Mass Effect for PS3. My computer can't run it and I stopped trusting Microsoft after I got the RROD. Now I can finally get it for PS3. I just hope I don't have to buy the whole trilogy and can just get Mass Effect. I'd hate to spend another $60 just for a game that came out 5 years ago since I already own 2 and 3. But if that's what it takes, I'll be more than willing to do so.

I though it was weird that the PS3 only gets Mass Effect 2 and 3. But now they are getting the first game to (i believe). The first Mass Effect is a really hard game to beat, even harder then the other 2 games. But it's fun. Make sure to read up and watch videos and how to get extra experience.

One of the most exciting things is that this will be the first Mass Effect's debut on PlayStation 3. It's an excellent way to experience the trilogy if you haven't! Hopefully it at least has some of the DLC. Can't wait!
