Hotline Miami

Hotline Miami is a high-octane action game overflowing with raw brutality, hard-boiled gunplay and skull crushing close combat. Set in an alternative 1989 Miami, you will assume the role of a mysterious antihero on a murderous rampage against the shady underworld at the behest of voices on your answering machine. Soon you'll find yourself struggling to get a grip of what is going on and why you are prone to these acts of violence.

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers
Hotline Miami is an Ultra Violent, pixelated, neon acid trip of a game set to a pulse pounding electronic soundtrack and it demands precision, practice and trial and error. Who are you? Why are you killing all of these people? Do you enjoy killing all of these people? These are questions Hotline Miami will routinely ask you and the answer is never simple.
At the beginning of each level, your nameless character gets a cryptic phone call requesting your presence at somewhere to perform a seemingly mundane task. You then leave your apartment, get into a car, arrive at a building and begin viciously murdering everyone inside with whatever tools are made available to you. After you’ve disposed of everyone, you get in the car and go home – maybe you stop along the way back for a pizza or a drink. Rinse and repeat. In print, that sounds horrible – and it is – but in game, it is strangely rewarding.
While on a rampage, you can string together kills in long combo chains for massive point bonuses – but one hit kills you and sends you back to the beginning. Levels are short, so this never becomes too frustrating, except for during longer missions with multiple objectives. During these longer stretches, some technical problems can raise their ugly head in the form of crashes that will force you to start from the beginning of the mission and lose all of your saved checkpoints. Aside from that one, extremely annoying glitch, Hotline Miami is a near perfect game that will keep you coming back to get that near perfect run.
