Left for dead on Tau Volantis, Isaac Clarke and John Carver face a daunting journey. As madness takes hold, they find they can't trust their eyes or each other. The trek leads to the ship Terra Nova, now home to a sadistic cult of Unitologists. The horror continues as the Dead Space saga enters its darkest chapter. Awakened, a nightmare to gamers?
Did you buy this product for yourself or someone else? For me
While the Dead Space trillogy has been an interesting journey for gamers, is that journey at an end? When Awakened was announced I was very excited and couldn't wait to get my hands on it.
The game play was pretty good, the sound effects and music kept you on edge expecting something to jump out at you at any moment, and the story was decent.
Where this DLC fails, at least in my opinion, is length and the ending of the game. The game was very disappointingly short, even with many distractions I was able to finish Awakened within a very few hours.
And the end of the game? Talk about a cliff hanger, I'll not spoil it for anyone who hasn't played through it but lets just say that it leaves the gamer wanting much more.
Fans of the trillogy will remember the hidden messages in the chapter titles such as "Nicole Is Dead" from Dead Space and "Brother Moons Are Awake" from Dead Space 3 which possibly hinted at a Dead Space 4
However the chapters in Awakened spell "RIP". Could this mean "Rest in Peace"? signifying that the end of Awakened is the end of Earth, or the end of Issac or the even end of Dead Space?
I'm not sure, what I am sure of however is that overall I was disappointed with both the length and the ending of Awakened, but to each his own and you may like the end where I do not.
