Did you buy this product for yourself or someone else? For me
I really like this because you can build your very own house from the ground up. But you actually have to go out and find some materials for the house's structural building. But watch out, other people in skyrim's reaches like to wander and steal your goods. Especially Falkreath. Things like giants or thieves etc.

It was good. I loved the idea of making my own house. I also really liked the adopting children idea but you don't get alot. I would recommend it for someone who has some money to spend and play.

From the company that brought you horse armor in Oblivion (Skyrim's predecessor) they now give you the ability to build your own house! Well, sort of. You're given three different homesteads to build your house from, all of which are nice, except for one near the town of Falkreath which I found to have to many enemies spawn near it and destroy my peaceful, fun-loving chickens. From there you have to basically acquire all sorts of building materials. You slowly build the house starting with a small chamber, then a main hall and finally 3 add-ons. There are nine of these add-ons to chose from, all of which have different uses. One is a greenhouse, another a forge, and another an enchanter's tower and so on and so forth. You can then build furniture, storage and other things in these rooms. However, you can't really choose what to build, your options are given and you have to find the materials to build it from. I found this part a little glitchy as even after I had completely furnished a room, it said there more things I could build (I had already built these things). You can also build beehives, add chickens, and bring a carriage driver to your home. Adopting children is a good idea, but there isn't much you can do with them other than play a game or two with them. All in all you might invest 8 to 10 hours of your time into Hearthfire, most of the time spent getting materials for your big house. It is possible to build on all three homesteads, but it isn't really worth it. Just go buy an already built house in one of Skyrim's cities.

I like the whole idea of being able to build a house from the ground up and not having to go purchase one from a certain city with only a few modifications.
