This game is perfect for: casual gamers
First off, this is NOT for the simulation racer... Way too many people have given this bad reviews because they're used to simulation. This game meets the fine line between simulation and arcade. Graphically, awesome game. Every car seems to have it's own feel. The truefeel technology I think is awesome. Really makes it so anyone can drive. Maybe not dirve great, but can at least attempt to keep the car on the road! The online mod is fun, but be careful who you race with, if you're looking for clean racers. The liveroutes system is awesome. Never know which way the turn is going to be, oh wait, it's a straight-away! Overall, awesome game. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good racing game for any console or PC. But if you are looking for your simulation racing game, stay with iRacing on your PC, Gran Turismo on PS3, or Forza on 360.

Codemasters removed the cockpit view for the first time since the TOCA series on ps2, claiming that "nobody used it" and they needed the RAM for other things (like squirrels that run across the track, and that arcade junk system they call LiveRoute).
Was a Codemasters fan until they turned GRID 2, a game I've been waiting for for quite some time, until a total kids game.
Look at all the hype - but then look at the discounts they're already doing around the internet - they're going for a quick cash grab because they know this game will suck, and bad.
If anything, buy this USED. Don't give Codemasters more money to ruin more good franchises that nobody asked them to water-down.

Really?

Really man? So I guess the absence of cockpit view somehow ruined the sound of the game? It ruined the graphics too? Come on, don't be sour about it.

The other rating the individual had posted I think, is a little off. OK, there is no cock pit view, but with the amount of action during the abundant race types, there is no reason to miss out on the action by limiting your field of view inside the cockpit. Plus, its not a flight simulator so complaining about the cockpit should be interpreted as "the drivers seat". First the graphics are really, really nice throughout plethora of vehicles you can drive also meshed with the amazing, detailed scenery. I am a big time Gran Turismo fan when I had a console, so hopping on Grid 2 is one heck of a substitute. The sound effects, especially relating to the exact real world exhaust and engine noise is spot on. The depth is great fro a racing game and the races always find a way to get to heart and adrenaline going. The damage, well I must say is completely destructive which also does a great job on affecting the performance of the car during the race. The online racing is really fun as well and carries an addicting replay value. This goes for the campaign mode as well regarding the replay value. With all the great aspects Grid 2 has to offer, nothing is perfect and does have some minor negatives which can easily be turned to the blind eye. So far since I have played, I haven't seen an option to upgrade the vehicle with aftermarket parts in the campaign. I have only played online enough to reach level two because of the campaign being as addictive as it is. You earn money through placement in racing online and there is a garage option that has a label called upgrades, but I haven't ventured into it yet. So, maybe there is an upgrade option in online play, who knows. All in all, I think that any racing fan will love playing this game and has a guaranteed stamp of enjoyment. oh, one thing I forgot to mention, I haven't seen any squirrels run across the road, but that probably because I am racing at a action packed, crazy speed. So my question is if you can see a squirrel, your probably going way to slow...lol
