Not worth it
PostedFebruary 17, 2014
So I bought the ps4 because of all of the e3 hype think that it will be the better system. Thinkin back on e3... It wasn't the system with better games, just better policies and I don't care about policies as long a Ivey good games , and all te ps4 exclusive are horrible. After that I traded in my Ps4 for an xbox and te exclusives weren't the greatest but they sure were better than the ps4 exclusives. And the overall experience make up for lack of launch titles

awesome system
PostedFebruary 16, 2014
I have had the system since the release date. I have had no issues at all and the system has worked great. I love the tv and video apps, so far the game lineup isnt as indepth as i would like but they are great graphics. The controller is 100% improved from the previous model. Thumbs no longer touch, grips are better shaped, the touchpad is amazing, the built-in speaker is great, and the triggers are much more improved. The system is smaller than the PS3 Slim, doesnt have a power brick, and is near impossible to hear running even when only a foot away. Great job to sony, Im hoping that their future game line-up continues to get stronger.

Man, Sony did it with this one! The PS4 is by far the best gaming system that I have layed my hands on. I love this thing and I'm so glad I always stuck with Sony & the PlayStation brand!

Sleek, powerful, but not for me (yet)
PostedFebruary 15, 2014
I purchased the system on launch day, lucky enough to find a store with some extra, and I certainly put it through its paces since. The games are fun, at least some of the third party ones are. Assassin's Creed looked fantastic, just a bit short of PC level graphics, and you can't go wrong with the sports offerings (except NBA Live, of course). The system is incredibly powerful, and I'm incredibly excited to see what it will bring in the future, but right now its not all that worth the money. My one huge problem, other than terrible first party support game wise, is the lack of scope. This is a game console in every sense of the word, and that's great, but it lacks functionality that makes it different from a basic gaming PC. The camera is nothing more than a gimmick, and functional support is too far down the pipeline to make it an even remote competitor to Xbox's kinect. The controller is also another issue for me. While it is innovative in some basic ways, it sacrifices in one major area, battery life. I found that mine would last a maximum of 8 hours on one charge, compared to my Xbox's 42 hours (which is probably a rare occasion, I know). The lightbar is neat, and it does give a little extra level of immersion, but if your gaming area is too well lit, it doesn't offer much. The touch pad also hasn't had enough support to make it useful, and it just feels awkward to use right now. My final beef with the package is the headphones. I give props to Microsoft for choosing to include a headset with their console, and I think I would've preferred to have no trial of Playstation Plus included, and in return have a better headset included. While I'm sure that this system, as well as Xbox and PC will drive the new generation of games in some pretty amazing directions, I can't give Sony my support, at least for now.
