Love this system

I love everything about this system. It has functioned very well for me in every way and it offers many improvements over the PS3. The things that I like the most are the controller (the speaker and the touch paddle thing are great ideas) and being able to go from app to app nearly seamlessly, no closing one to open another. I always used to wait a year or two to buy the latest console and I am very glad I made an exception for my PS4. There are two minor gripes I have, the first is that the headphones that come with it are almost like Sony is playing a joke on you for the low quality. Not sure why they were included. The second is the initial downloading and installation of the updated software. It took an hour or so and when you have a brand new PS4 that hour seems much longer. Anyway, go for it.

Switching apps without closing others?

Hi Eric, I also have a PS4, and I love it too. I'm very much a Playstation guy who transitioned over from Xbox 360. Anyway, I'm not sure about something you said in your review. You talked about how you can switch from app to app on the PS4 without closing other apps. I find this to be false. When I want to switch apps, say from Call of Duty to the headset companion app or Knack, then it asks me to close Call of Duty before opening the other app. Is this true for you as well?

I didn't plan on getting a ps4 for awhile because 1)didn't think there was a big difference between it and a ps3 and 2) didn't know if I wanted to spend the money but boy am I happy my ps3 got the yellow light of death and decided to trade it in and get a ps4 this system is hands down better then the ps3 which I wasn't sure how big of a difference there would be but there is one and what sold me was the preview of mlb the show 14 and seeing the trailer for the crew graphic are amazing and only gonna get better as developers figure out ways to get the max outta this monster of a system and the fact that it's 100 bucks less then Xbox one is a huge selling point you simply can't go wrong with a ps4!

This is a great system for the price. I had two systems that didn't work so when I got mu third ps4 it worked it was all good and I was happy. The games work great. There is not much choice of games yet but that is because the sustenance just came out in November so it might take a little bit of time to get more games out for it. Great system.

Though the console is very costly it is a great console and you can tell Sony is pushing towards social media with the share button and the ability to make videos of your gameplay and sharing it with others plus the all the new games are going to start coming out for ps4 and not ps3 and the ps3 playstation network will be shut down in some year.
