Review 1 for Pacific Rim Gipsy Danger vs Knifehead 7 inch Action Figures
Awesome Figures for an Awesome
These figures are incredibly accurate (aside from Knifehead's scale) and cool. I'm going to break this review into 2 segments. Knifehead and Gypsy Danger.
Let's talk about Knifehead. Knifehead is very accurate to how he was portrayed in the movie. This figure has an incredible sculpt, but lacks in articulation. There is only an arm swivel, elbow joint, ball jointed legs, a bend in the knees, a wire tail, and a closing mouth (so he can bite his tongue I guess). Though he lacks articulation, he makes up for it in his simply stunning sculpt. This creature is just cool to look at. Bottom line, he is a must if you want a Kaiju-Jaeger battle.
Now Gypsy Danger is a well-rounded figure. It's got a good movie accurate sculpt, a decent range of articulation and one badass design. As far as articulation goes, the shoulders and elbow joints are hindered by the designs of the robot, therefore, limiting its potential articulation. However, you can get some pretty cool poses out of this figure. My main gripe is just the articulation limit in some areas. Overall, it's another strong entry for NECA's Pacific Rim line.
Keep an eye out for series 2 coming this October! Series 2 includes Striker Eureka, Battle Damaged Gypsy Danger, Leatherback, and an 18inch Gypsy Danger which is out now I believe. One more thing, Cherno Alpha has been confirmed for series 3!
