Thought it was a good deal at first. Purchased this unit 6-11-2014. Received it quickly, and two months later the system just locks up. I may have used it less than 15 times in a period of two months. It was a "Premium Refurbished" system and it only comes with a 30 day warranty. Unless you want to buy an extended warranty you're taking a huge risk.
As for me, I now have a PS3 40GB paper weight. Don't do what I did...look elsewhere for a system.

Console makes really loud noise. When I searched online i found out it's caused by YLOD..which is bound to happen again. Graphics were bad even with the hdmi. Controller and disk were clean but had to return it.

I purchased a refurbished PS3 in May, well, actually June 2014 , after many years of PS2 causal gaming, 3 months into and the unit began shutting down 15 min after starting... I read into YLOD and other re flowing procedures, and I am VERY DISSATISFIED with GameStop/Sony for even selling this!!. I am sending mine back, Via Fed Ex , like they promised over the phone, they will repair it, Why dont they follow suit with other refurbished electronics manufacturers?? (JoyMicrosystems, LG) in the 1 year warranty . This works and they dont accuse me of buying a game system SOLD IN 2008 that is only 3 months old,... it is a misrepresentation, a waste of time, GameStop doesn't OFFER INSURANCE AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. for refurbished PS3!!!

Uh...yeah they do. Just not online,you have to take it to the store after you get it and put one on it.
