My Overall View On The Xbox One
PostedApril 24, 2014
I purchased the Xbox One from a friend a few months back. I am an experienced gamer. I currently have a PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, PS4, and an Xbox One. I want to state that I don’t take part in these “Console Wars”. The main one right now is between the PS4 v. the Xbox One. This review is not going to be a comparison between the two. I will say at the end which I think is better, but my overall focus will be on the Xbox One.
I think the Xbox One is an excellent console. I really enjoy mine. I really enjoy the games I have. Titanfall, NBA 2k14, and Ryse are all great games. The graphics for these games are excellent. I really enjoy the feel of the controller. The rear triggers vibrate to add immersion. In 2k14, either the right or left trigger vibrates to the hand that the player is dribbling. It may be a small feature but sometimes it is the small details that make a difference.
The Xbox Connect is also another good feature. If it wasn't then Microsoft would e in trouble. This feature is one of the main reasons why it is $100 more than its Sony competitor. Is it worth it? Right now I would say no. I do enjoy controlling DIRECTV with it but I have not seen any games uses the Connect feature very much. So right now it is almost as if it is a $100 TV remote. If game developers can incorporate the Connect into their games I think it will be worth it. However, developers did not really do this with the 360’s. Hopefully they will not make the same mistake twice.
I really enjoy the Xbox One’s home interface. It looks nice and it flows smoothly. It is easy to find what you are looking for. Pinning apps to your home page is also nice because you can easily get to your favorite apps. Also, if you are watching TV through the Xbox and you go to the home screen. The show you are watching will continue to play. You can still hear the sound playing as well as view it from a box still playing the show. I think that this interface is a huge upgrade from the Xbox 360’s.
Overall I would rate this console, as of right now, a 4 out of 5. I think that this console will be a great one in the future when more games and features are added. I do not think it should be $100 more than the PS4. I said I would tell you which one I prefer, so here is your answer. I prefer neither to the other. I honestly think they are pretty much the same thing. I think this is an excellent console. If you want the Xbox One, go for it. You wont be disappointed.

The xbox 1 has tons of new features such as doing many things at once. It has great gaming titles too. I think 500 dollars was worth the xbox one.

big problem

My Xbox one doesn't like when you switch game disc. Every time I change games or watch a blue ray my Xbox acts like it can't read the disc. So have keep removing and reinserting the disc till it reads it.

Great for techies that want to talk to their TV
PostedApril 22, 2014
The Xbox one has not lived up to its hype for me yet. It took me only a couple of weeks to get over the fact that I could talk to my TV. The system is glitchy to say the least. while it doesn't require it, if you want the system to perform like it should everyday you really need to hard reset the system every day. Games freeze and "crash to destop/homescreen" with regularity. Graphically its much better than the ps3 or xbox 360 but right now it's not worth the money. The games that are coming our or that are all the hype for the system are not even close to comparable gameplay wise to what is currently available on the ps3 or xbox 360. I find myself bored with the system and frequently go back to the ps3 to play games. I know the system will get better, but if you are buying a system for gameplay I would purchase the PS4. I currently own 10 titles and continue to purchase more with the hopes that something will be worth playing for longer than a couple hours but nothing is there yet.
