I bought this remote preowned so my kid could come home and watch her tv shows after school. She doesn't like the controller so this was a no brainer. The remote overall is decent, it's very lightwieght and compact. I've noticed that you do need to be aiming at the console for it to respond and that sometimes the console is sluggish to respond to the remote. It's probably the simpliest thing you'll ever setup. The remote could be better built in terms of being bluetooth and adding a few more buttons for functionality as a TV remote but overall not the worst thing we've seen come out. The remote is average at best and as soon as a better version comes out this will be in the dust.

Great Remote - but understand ITS A REMOTE

This is a small-sized, modern looking, high quality remote. It has a built in sensor for when the remote is picked up/moved the buttons will light up which is EXCELLENT for dark rooms. The remote works great with generalized movement on the Xbox One, as well as within apps such as Netflix or Media Player. In order to utilize the functionality for TV volume - you MUST have a Kinect and use One Guide app to set it up. Finally - for those complaints about having to point it at the console - that is how remotes work, with IR sensors. I definitely recommend it, and it is a far nicer design and feel than the Original Xbox and 360 remotes.

I was pretty excited when this remote came out because I liked having a remote for my 360 so much. This remote just seems like a poor excuse for a remote. It doesn't respond like a remote should. Doesn't have any kind a numeric keypad or the x and y buttons. This is not a good product.

The reason it isn’t not working is because it is a freaking XBOX ONE remote not a 360.

Works amazingly for netflix, hulu, tv, or just moving around the main menu. It feels great, and its small. The way it lights up when it moves is also super cool.
