Cheap materials

I was excited to get this controller. When you take it out the box and put it in your hand you immediately feel the the cheap build quality compared to a real gamecube controller. The back feels like cheap plastic. Im surprised Nintendo endorsed this controller.

Its okay

Picked this up today out of need of a classic controller and in my local store this being the only one. It definitely gets the job done, feels like a GC controller (although it is a little uncomfortable to hold). If you want to play smash with a GameCube controller wait for the official adapter or HORI's GameCube classic controller. (HORI has been making top tier third party controllers since the 1980's)

A great idea, but poor execution; not recommended.

I was looking forward to a semi-wireless GameCube-type controller. When I saw that this was licensed by Nintendo, I expected essentially a clone of the GameCube controller; however, I was disappointed. This controller feels cheaply constructed. The trigger buttons are very springy and sound like those rattly plastic toy microphones. The plastic is shiny and creaky, not solid matte like the original GameCube controllers. The analog sticks are hard plastic and do not have the same rubber feel that the GameCube controllers have. In short, when I held the controller in my hand, I instantly wanted to return it. I'm going to buy the wired GameCube controller adapter instead and stick with the original. The only thing going for this series of controllers is the visual design. If Nintendo actually made these instead of licensing them to a third party, the result may have been different. Instead, this officially licensed product feels like a cheap knockoff.

Great Buy and Quality

This Wii U Fight Pad is a great value. For $25, you get a well made controller that is based on the Gamecube controller. It works for the Wii and Wii U, all you have to do is plug it into a Wii Remote and it acts like a Classic Controller. It is built very well and I would even say the control sticks on this controller are better than the original Gamecube controller. If you have the Wii Remotes and don't want to spend $50 dollars on the Wii U Pro controller, this is a spectacular buy.
