Bringing Home The Princess
Nothing to complain about
PostedDecember 13, 2008
Games like Resistance are few and far between, this game really has nothing which is worth complaining about, people can nit-pick small things like the exclusion of a narrator takes away from some of the story, but ultimately this game is everything an arcade shooter should be. The controls are slick and responsive, very quickly control of Hale becomes more like a dance instead of a series of button presses. The most impressive element of this game is its sheer scope, the battles and locations are epic and it is almost unbelievable that 50+ PCs/NPCs can be on the screen at one time with absolutely no slowdown. Unlike R1, the co-op mode in this game also has its own separate campaign where players wage war against the Chimera simultaneous to what the player experiences in the single player campaign. At the end of the day this is a must own for any shooter fan.

Resistance 2
PostedDecember 13, 2008
Resistance 2 is a great game, but there are good and bad things about the game. A problem I have with the game is that the Storyline is not nearly as good as the first one, and there is no replay ability in the Campaign, because the same thing usually happens every time. The Multiplayer is great except for every once in a while. Sometimes games can be WAY too hectic and you will spawn being shot at. To me Skirmish is the only good game type for Resistance 2 Multiplayer. The Cooperative mode, I will say this is definitely my favorite thing about Resistance 2. You have 3 classes that each have a HUGE role in the game. For example, if you have no Spec Ops to give ammo, then your Medic cannot heal, and your Soldier cannot use his shield for a long time. You can customize your characters a little, but hopefully they will have DLC for it. The good thing about the Coop is that you can level up your characters and get better weapons/armor for your character. So far, from what I have seen, the Coop would take a LONG time to get boring, because you start at a different spawn each time and have different objectives/approaches. Resistance 2 is a must buy for PS3 owners.

A Great Game
PostedDecember 12, 2008
Resistance:Fall of Man 2 was a great game for sure as soon as you pick up the controller you're in the firce battle for mankind. The graphics are breathtaking and the story feels like history itself. With a cliffhanger ending that makes you want more. The controls are more like call of duty style now and the chimara are 10 times stronger. The chimara army is now bigger and has way more diffrent units. For example the chamelon which jumps at you at random times making it almost impossible to go a stage without getting killed did I metion its invisible. The hybrids also have a smarter AI so do the Stalkers which have a diffrent apperance in this game. The story is better than the co-op by far but the co-op online with up to 8 players is purely based on teamwork if you don't stick together you wiil die. In co-op the chimara are much more durable, The more players the more clips you're going to waste on that titan. Don't forget the massive boss battles. Well with the almost total wipeout of mankind and with the new team of sentinals reload you're Carbine because Resistance:Fall of Man 2 is a must buy.

Awesome game, but there is always room for improvement

First, this is the best first person shooter I've played for the PS3 since the first game came out. The campaign mode is great, until the final boss, didn't die once on normal, and really didn't have a challenge on hard. Not finished Super Human yet, but I figure the same there too. Other than the big finally being too easy the campaign does not fail to deliver. The GFX's are 720P, really? By now I expect PS3 only titles to kick out 1080P, but that’s just me. The effects are still well done, not a deal breaker by any means. Outstanding sound effects, only problem is they drown out the commands and voices of other troops. Online is good, but it is missing some basic commons elements, once a game ends in the "Play" mode for CoOp, and Multiplayer there is no option to keep going. Even if you create the CoOp party, you have to recreate the lobby again. Not a deal breaker but come on. The game is awesome, and I'll admit owning it since the second week of release I've really hardly played anything else. It's a great game, with many new options, and massive weapon upgrades over the first title. But missed the total 10 mark because of some missing items, and no 1080P output.
