This game is not what i expected it to be when i bought it. I thought it would build off the first one and be even better, however i was wrong. Its not a horrible game its just one of those first person shooters that blend in with the others. Its not bad but it's certainly not great its an okay game, at least for single player. The game had a lot more potential based off the first one however they went a different direction with the story or what you may call a story there wasn't much there. The online play went a different direction as well for the worse. The leveling is way to hard and long, you have to shoot someone about 20 times before they die unless you get a head shot and the heavy online games where there is up to i think 80 players is just chaos everyone killing and dying within seconds, you don't even know what's going on. So to sum up the review this is a definite rental with very limited lasting appeal, sad but true.

First off, let me say that this game is a very challenging one, and that is a good thing. I am playing on the normal setting and the A.I. is still very aware of what you are doing. The graphics in the game are second to none. I have to say they are right up there with Metal gear Solid 4. That is an accomplishment in itself. The storyline is nothing deep but it fits well with the game. I do like that it picked up right where the first one leaves off. Simply put, the Chimera are spreading. The United States has now been overrun. I do like the weapons in the game, however, my only two complaints with the game thus far is the lack of a weapon wheel, and the fact that there is no longer a life bar, which adds to the difficulty factor. The addition of enemies that fill up the television screen is a welcome sight. Also, the huge battles that take place all around you are awesome. There are dozens of enemies and friends alike squeezing off bullets at each other. It makes for some real chaos onscreen. This is defintely one of the premier titles to hit the PS3. It would be folly to miss out on this one. I look forward to Resistance 3 when the time comes.

They pretty much ruined coop offline play

I have the first RFOM and my family and I have played the coop campaign over and over, even opening up super human levels. This was one of the reasons we enjoyed RFOM so much, because we could play as a team AND enjoy the campaign. RFOM2 has totally changed that, for the worse. There is no campaign mode for 2 players and the coop is very repetitive, where you need to do the same levels over and over to get to another level. In cooperative only one player's data saves so the other player is always starting out as a level 1 player, which makes getting very far really difficult. I don't like not being able to play and be part of the story. The developers put TOO much emphasis into making RFOM2 an online multiplayer game. If I wanted an online multiplayer game I'd play Everquest or something else. The developers really ruined this one for cooperative offline players. I guess my family, friends and myself will trade in RFOM2 and keep enjoying RFOM. Hopefully if they make a RFOM3 they follow the first one and get back to it's original, enjoyable form.

Since I haven't played the first resistance game I must say the moment I started playing this game I was hooked. The gameplay was very challenging especially with all the variety of enemies. The weapons were strong and effective but could be better if there's more variety of weapons. The graphics were very smooth and sharp, also very detailed in color, tone, lines, etc. The storyline was okay but could be better if there's more detail in it. The sound was really good especially the voice acting of the chimeras. The sound of the weapons are really accurate. The game is pretty challenging, especially when your enemies guns and grenades does a lot more damage than most other first person shooting games where you have to rush for cover every time you got shot. Overall the resistance 2 is a great FPS games, if you own a ps3 absolutely go out there and get resistance 2, it will not disappoint.
