Good buy for the beginner

This game is great for the new Wii customer who's looking for some hands on training on how to operate the Wii remote and nunchuck. It comes packed with a few games which are amateur at best in content level, and a second Wii remote so you can invite your friends over to challenge you. After all, what's a console without some multiplayer action? I have fallen victim to the tanks game, which lets you drive a tank around and shoot at other tanks as you progress through levels. It's addicting. Some of the games aren't quite as fun, but there is a target shooting game similar to a "duck hunt," and a type of "air hockey" game that seems to get better as you play. From this game, you can pretty much easily pick up what you need to do to correctly operate your controllers, and it's a great way into more party type games. You will have to spring for the nunchuck though, as Wii Play only comes with the extra remote. It can get expensive fast, so keep an eye on what your into, and try to collect accessories and games as you go!

Another Party Collection
PostedOctober 16, 2008
Wii Play is another collection of mini-games where some miss the target and some hit the bulls-eye. You start off with only one mini-game unlocked but when you play through one game it unlocks another till you’ve unlocked all of them. Then when you do you’ll be able to replay a list of nine mini-games: Shooting Range, Pose Mii, Table Tennis, Laser Hockey, Tanks, Fishing, Charge, Billiards, and Find Mii. The Shooting Range objective is to shoot every target you see, and with its precise movement it is easily the best mini-game for Wii Play. Pose Mii is a mini-game where you press the A or B button to indicate which pose you want your Mii to be in. Then you rotate your hand to fit your Mii in the missing slots in the bubbles. This game can be surprisingly difficult but also addictive. Table Tennis objective is to move the paddle to hit the ping pong ball, but the computer will automatically send it shooting strait back at you. The game is over when you miss the ball or reach the ultimate 100 volley. Laser Hockey objective is the same as the original pong but you can twist your wrist and the paddle turns with it. This would have been a good and entertaining idea but ultimately the controls are so glitchy that you most likely will send the ball strait in your own goal. Tanks is where you control a tank and you have to destroy other tanks to rank up and pass the level almost like combat for the Atari 2600, but with a Wii control twist. Fishing gives you a generic fishing pole and tells you which fish to catch. This mini-game is basically the least fun and simply forgettable. Charge is some sort of racing game where you’re a man strapped onto a cow racing down a country road knocking down scarecrows like an idiot. The controls to this mini are bad making players turn the Wiimote to its side and pretending the reigns on the cow and ultimately feel uncomfortable. Billiards is most likely the best game out of the list. In this mini-game you play a nice round of nine-ball where the controls are dead-on making you almost feel like you're playing the real deal. The amount of detail to this game rivals that of any full-fledged pool game where you can spin, jump, and bank like a real pool game. You also use the Wiimote like a pool stick, and depending how far you pull it back to how hard you throw it depends on how hard you hit the q-ball. The last game on the list is find Mii where you have to find the Mii you are using or a pair of Miis and so on within the time limit. This game is quite difficult and would have been more entertaining if the timer was left out. Wii Play graphics are better then that of Wii Sports but don’t fall very far from its earlier predecessor, and graphics alone don’t convince me to recommend it. The gameplay is fun for the most part where Shooting Range, Billiards, Tanks and Table Tennis is fun the rest of the collection of mini-games are a one time one deal thing, but all of them can be entertaining with the new points and ranking system.

Good choice
PostedAugust 18, 2008
Wii play is a good choice for the Wii, mostly because it comes with a wii remote. One thing I don't really like about this game is that when on your own playing the game the single player games aren't too good. Like on table tennis you can on do rally and you can't play a real game. I think they should make a 1 player mode where you can play against the CPU. One thing that is good is that Wii Play comes with a remote so you get a two in one deal of both a remote and a game. This is a good deal if you have family or friends that will play the game with you a lot. It is a whole lot more fun if you have more people but if you are alone while playing it, it is still fun to try to beat different events and play the games. This game is a lot of fun and is worth buying.

How much better can you make it?!
PostedAugust 11, 2008
Don't let anyone tell you otherwise- Wiiplay is simply an amazing game to get! Of course, it comes along with the Wii bundle, but isn't that great? I love how you can feel totally in control with the sensors and how you can move along to the game. Truly, I would buy it. Unfortunatley I do not have Wii Play, my friend does, but I am dying to purchase it! I definitely could play it for hours on end. The challenge was very fair, and it offered a wide variety of different activities to choose from. A remarkable game it is. The graphics are very, very good... excellent, I would say... and you can play with up to four different people! How much better can you make a game? Like seriously, it gets you feeling active. You won't be sitting on the couch for this one! You'll be up on your feet the whole time!
