There is a reason Silent Hill 2 is still amazing. It has an Incredible story, a chilling atmosphere, and original and innovative monsters. The gameplay might not be that great, but that is the point of SH2, you are an average guy and are supposed to avoid combat. The game offers a lot of replay value as every time you play the game, you are likely to get a different ending. The game also has one of the best soundtracks (along with the other Silent Hill titles) thanks to Akira Yamaoka. In conclusion, Silent Hill 2 is what most "horror" games should strive to be.
This game simply blew me away. While it is not the scariest game that I have ever played, even though it IS scary at some points, it has an amazing story, and the wacky camera angles, creepy enemies, and dark but beautiful music made me feel on edge the entire time. This is the first Silent Hill game that I have played, although I did watch someone do a playthrough of Silent Hill 1, and I will be playing Silent Hill 3 soon. Get this if you want a great story, and lots of scares.

By this day and age, I'm pretty sure I don't have to explain why Silent Hill 2 is one of the scariest games ever. The game is FULL of symbolism and a perfect atmosphere that will leave you breathless. Akira Yamaoka did a amazing job on the games soundtrack, and the voice acting is top-notch.

First off to explain the title, I started playing horror games after I played dead space so my review is less about how amazing this game is and more of a warning this game is not for everyone some of the puzzles require quite a bit of thinking, never the less that is half the fun, the graphic's were great for its time, but I still feel they could have pushed it a little more like they did with SH:3 and SH:4, that being said if you are looking for a shooter horror game or action horror game, then this is not for you, it is fun in its own unique way because it keeps you on edge and make you keep guessing whats around the corner, It makes you think outside the box and it really pushes you to your limits.
