MVC2 is a gem. Shore, the graphics might not be the best to todays standards, but ask yourself, do graphics realy mater if the game is amazing. Answer: No. This game has a fight machanic and custimizable fighting opitions that blend together so smoothly that playing this hardcore fighting game feels in no way, shape, or form clunky or stale. With a roster of well over 50 characters(with a sizalbe portion of the capcom side being from street fighter) and choosable assist attacks, the possalbities of three man(or woman) teams are endless. This game truly makes up for the bad wrap that the fighting game genre has gottan over the years. Good work, Capcom.

It took me a while but i got Mvc 2 and I gotta say its just plain awsome and thats it its just awesome words cant even describe on how good this game is but since its a review i might as well say something. The first thing you notice is sheer number of characters to choose from, it seems that marvel and capcom are about to go war with so many characters. The typical setup for fighting game has you going through a couple of rounds but there are no rounds in this game instead you choose a team of three and go against another team of three tag team style and fight one battle. The controls work great and when you get the hang of them youll be launching opponents into the air and air combo them just like that. Strategy is one integral part of the game as you choose your characters you choose what asist they will use which will come in handy if your getting your butt kicked. One thing I thought was interesting was the shop that has artwork, alternate color schemes, additional characters, and additional stages to buy with the points that you get from playing the game, this kinda takes away the challenge of unlocking new things but its a nice addition. I only have two complaints one is some of the new stages are alternate versions of the ones you got, and two is the final bosswho was challenging and pretty cool but he just doesnt seem to fit in the game well. These are only minor so overall this is a great game and no one should ever pass this up.

Best in the Fighting Genre
PostedFebruary 12, 2011
Anyone who has played the side scrolling "versus" fighting games knows the Street Fighter franchise. Street Fighter actually started the genre way back in the day. Fast forward twenty years, and what you have is the best of all the Street Fighter sequels with the full complement of Marvel Superheroes to choose from as well.
Gameplay is FANTASTIC. Unlike the precurser on the PS1, you can seamlessly switch between one of your three chosen teammates for true tag team action. The graphics are every bit as good as the arcade precursors with more characters to choose from, and all the combos and juggles that you have grown to love or hate from the series.
Yes, the music is lame . . . but I usually crank up the stereo system when playing anyway. You want a story line? Play an RPG. If you want a pure versus brawl that has hours of endless play, combos, and characters to master, they don't get any better than this.
The only game better may be Marvel vs Capcom 3 . . . just played it yesterday, and might have to finally upgrade to a PS3!
