I'm going to be honest with everybody.... I hadn't played this game until about 6 months so I don't have a lot of memory's with this game really but the few I have are amazing. This game quickly found a place near and dear to my heart. Lets go down the list of why this game is great. The Challenge in this game is amazing. You can smash buttons with mvc2 and really feel like a pro. Then theres the understanding of whats really going on and how technical this game really is. The Controls are simple similar to the Street Fighter controls just a little main streamed for the mvc2 play set. Character selection is amazing. Something like 52 character which each have 3 different assist types. That's a lot to learn and if you can honestly say you've mastered each character I respect you. You only start with 24 characters so that leave a lot to unlock and each character has a art gallery and something like 4 alternate color pallets. Characters are kind of balance, Saying no one character is out right better than another. You have to really know how to play to break a character. The Graphics are very simple sprite based but everything is very smooth an crisp looking. The Music is something a little odd. Most of my friends cant stand it but I find myself at work sing "I wanna take you for a ride". ;D But as far as the characters they all sound great. nothing to outrageous on the Capcom side but a few of the Marvel Characters sound a bit odd imo. The story line isn't really apparent in the game sep for a small cut scene at the end of the arcade mode. Over all this game is alot of fun. It has a hefty price tag for a & year old game but believe me it is very much worth it. I've stayed up many nights with a few friends just trying out new and fun things to do in the game. If your looking for a great game to get into and have the money I highly recommend this game to anybody. p.s. sorry about any spelling or punctuation errors.

Most sought after fighting game

This game is really awesome! I have been waiting to acquire this game for quite some time and I was very happy to eventually get my hands on a complete copy of this tag team fighting extravaganza! The controls are very good and simplified which was a very smart move on Capcom's part, streamlining the controls to just 4 main buttons. The game has a lot of unlockable characters, gallery art, and different color palletes for each of the characters. The pace of the game is very quick, very smooth and its a great fighting game addition for any fighting fan. Since this game was given a limited print run, it is very hard to find and if you are able to locate a copy, then by all means buy it, because it is worth the money! Definitely recommend!!

TOP 5 BEST FIGHTING GAME EVER!!!!
PostedApril 29, 2009
Introduction: This game is what you call EXCELLENCE with all capital letters. When the first installment came out I was pleased but I knew that if another Marvel VS Capcom was made then it is going to need some serious work and be just as good as the Arcade release. Then Marvel VS Capcom 2 was released with over 60 characters and I got exactly what I asked for. I have never seen to many fighting games like this one and on top of that this is the best VS(VERSUS) games out of all the others. I haven't found one VS game that competes against this one. CON: All the cons was fixed since the first installment of this game. NO Problems. PRO: There was so much diversity in this video game that it made it really enjoyable to play. I still play this game and it is absolutely one of the best fighting games I have ever played in my entire life. I put this fighting game with other greats like Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat( The ones in the 90's), Street Fighter Alpha 2, 3, and other great notable fighting games like these. Also you can mix you game up with nearly any character you play with which makes the game so much fun. Nothing about this game was repetitive like the fighting games of today(most 2000 fighting games), and it had so many characters that you can play with almost anybody. The controls were so easy to use and you didn' have to worry about pulling off extremely hard moves just to play. That was probably the best feature in this game, it took away you having to worry about pressing all these buttons to do a super move, and kept the player focused on working on technique and as always having fun. Hopefully they make Marvel Vs Capcom 3 which is heavily rumored and if they do they better deliver just like they did in this video game. Overall: I would recommend one of the best fighting games ever and it is arguably the best fighting game of all time.

Hands-down one of the best fighting games ever made.

I remember first playing this game at the arcade and literally wasting quarter after quarter on playing the same level, using the same characters. Why? Because as others have noted, this game is addicting (if you're playing against another person, that is). The storyline is rather bland, but chances are that if you buy this game you're not buying it for the storyline, you're buying it for the two-player fun factor. There are plenty of characters to choose from; however, Capcom could have really chosen a better line-up. Amingo could have been replaced by Mega Man X or Zero, Ruby Heart could have been replaced by another Resident Evil character, and so on. All-in-all, Capcom has a decent line-up, but Marvel has a better one. Some characters are clearly more overpowered (such as Cable and Ice Man), but if you manage to master the combos of any character, you will overcome. (Also, each character has his or her own defense/offense levels. Akuma, for example, has horrible defense but is pretty wicked strong if you know how to do combos.) The sound is pretty similar to the first MvC and other fighters, but the jazz music can get highly annoying after playing for about an hour. I mean give me a break, why the hell did they choose JAZZ music for a fighting game? Capcom vs Snk 2 has awesome music, and MvC2 should have taken notes. All-in-all, it's a terrific multiplayer fighter, but it's very rare to find! So if you find a copy, KEEP IT FOREVER.
