Review 1 for Samurai Jack: The Shadow of Aku
======== Gameplay ======== Gameplay wise the game is composed of basic platforming and rather simplistic hack and slash action. The game doesn't offer that much in terms of good platforming action. There are a few exceptions with moving platforms, but most of the jumps are easy to make. And, the hack and slash combat is too easy. ======== Graphics ======== The game feels week in this area for multiple reasons. One of the main problems is that the design of the game is significantly different from the cartoon. The game deploys a rather rudimentary 3-D engine that looks terrible. ======== Sound ======== The sound track for the game is decent, though none of the tracks stand out as something to put on your ipod. The voice work while limited is rather good as well with all of the main voice actors from the show reprising their roles for the game. ======== Lasting Appeal ======== The game doesn't really have much in terms of lasting appeal. You can play on different difficulty settings, and the only way to unlock all of the extras is to beat the game on every difficulty setting. ======== Scores ======== Gameplay: 5 Graphics: 5 Sound: 9 Lasting Appeal: 1 Overall: 5
