Siren

1942 Japan, the village of Hanyuda is gripped by an unspeakable evil. Following an earthquake, a loud siren sounds and the surrounding sea has turned blood, engulfing much of the town. The villagers seem to be transforming into lumbering zombies at an alarming rate. Siren's story unfolds through the eyes of its ten lead characters, as they struggle to survive the chaos of a village gone seriously awry.

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers
I must say after being a fan of the Silent Hill series I had decided to give the SIREN trilogy a chance and try it. I played this one, and loved it in it's entirety. From it's unsettling plot about a 1942 Japanese Village plagued by an evil that floods the village with a red sea, and turns most of the villagers into shibito (Japanese for undead). The graphics were quite interesting for its' time, giving it an "old" look to it, and the controls were something to get used to, but after the first two levels, your ready to go and trying to survive and stop the horrors unfolding around you. If your a gamer who enjoys games for this compelling stories, and willing to keep an open mind about it, then this is perfect for you.

Where to begin with this game? When I first began playing this game, it was pitch dark, thunderstorming outside and I was ready for some excitement, but I got more than I planned on. This game, along with the graphics and the noises in the background, was amazing. Made me want to run for my life. The wonderful storyline was great, as you play like 10 characters at different times, but all of them tieing back to one another. If you like horror games and gore, this one is for you. What scared me the most that night was the creatures lurking in the night. Nothing feels worse than a zombie coming at you trying to bite you while it is pitch dark and storming, and you are alone with no weapon. This game is for the gamers who enjoy killing all at the same time thrill seeking motives... Siren + Me= running away and zombie fries!!!!! "Power to the players!"

This game is very decieving in the fact that it LOOKS great, but its really not. The game makes its so that you have to re-visit certain levels later to reobtain items you'll need that you couldn't get the first time around, and while this is a great idea, eventually it gets confusing. You could end up playing the same level 30 times over for no good reason, even after you've completed both objectives. Characters are poorly developed, the controls are annoying and hard to understand, and the graphics are less than amazing. Plus, the endings you're able to achieve make little to no sense, and are randomly thrown in throughout. This game makes it hard to tell the difference between cutscene and ending, and it doesnt help that it throws you to yet another level even after you've supposedly beaten the game. All in all, this game is awful and I would NOT reccommend it to ANYONE. There's a reason I bought my copy "barely used".

This game is brutal. You may die twenty times in one mission. You may die that twentieth time RIGHT in front of your goal, and you may be brought all the way back to the beginning of the mission to do it all over again. I decided to try this game after buying Siren: Blood curse. Your map doesn't show you where you are, instead it shows all the landmarks of the area, and the direction you're facing. While this sounds annoying, and it can be at first, once you get used to it the novelty of exploring and figuring out where you are becomes extremely fun
Sightjacking is hard to get used to, but once I did, I found myself using the feature FAR more than I was in Blood curse. This is mainly because there are twenty times more gun shibito, and most characters lack any way to defend themselves. For those who've never played the series: Sightjacking is when you scan the area around you to find zombies (called shibito) and look through their eyes. Its an innovative feature and the game uses it well.
The sound is overall good, but the voice acting by the main characters is pretty weird. They sound like they have british accents, but they are all japanese. The shibito make all kinds of disturbing noises, there was even one mission where I accidentally blew my cover and started running because I heard a shibito laughing to himself nearby.
The most frustrating part (or if you're like me, the most fun) is actually trying to figure out what you're supposed to do with the clues the game gives you. I personally enjoyed trying to figure out what to do, as it made me feel like a bit of a detective. Every discovery of an item led me to wrack my brain on what I should be doing with it, and where I should be looking next.
Overall, Siren is a game that is not for those who are new to video games, and I definitely wouldn't recommend it to an idiot. If you want a challenging experience that gives you a lot to think about, give Siren a try.

My brother and his girl friend made me play this it was so bad. First of all the game play was agonizing press triangle to pick up press triangle to do this to do that. Annoying so so annoying. In this game you can't even do anything or at least i think cause a couldn't stand getting the first two levels. But at least i could say that the cop yelling out it's no use was memorable but nothing else was.
