Easily best online shooter for PS2

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat succeeded in what makes the series so much fun. It created an addictive multiplayer with tons of potential. In my opinion, don't bother getting the game if you are hooked up for online play. THe single-player campaign was a nice effort but lots of things just don't seem right. Hotswapping between players is interesting and is the best thing about single-player. The most annoying things I found annoying about it was that the enemies spawn litterally on top of you sometimes. So skip the campaign and head for the 24-player battles! There are lots of different vehicles to choose from like tanks, humvee type things, and helicopters. Unlike in some games the vehicle aren't too cheap. Only the helicopter has the potential to take over a whole map. But in most cases there are plenty of ways to destroy the vehicles. The maps are also great, ranging from large desert maps with large towns, to chinese villages on the water, there is something for everyone. There are 5 classes of soldiers for each of the 4 nations. The assault class has an assault rifle (with an attached grenade launcher), 3 frag grenades, 3 smoke grenades, and a pistol. The sniper class has a sniper rifle, a pistol, a laser designator (which you use to target an enemy vehicle, sending missiles down upon it), 3 frag grenades, and a foward observer (which reveals the locations of enemies on the mini map). The special ops class has a silenced machine gun (with high accuracy), a silenced pistol, 4 C4 remote grenades, 3 stun grenades, and a knife (instant kill). The engineer class has shotgun, a rocket launcher, a blowtorch (to repair vehicles), a pistol, and vehicle land mines. The support class has a heavy machine gun, a pistol, a health injector, 3 frag grenades, and remote that calls a mortar strike onto your coordinates. The only thing is that there aren't a lot of each type of weapon. There is only one type of assault rifle for each nation, only one type of machine gun, etc. In other games you can customize what assault rifle you want to use. But that is not a huge set-back. The thing is simply that Battlefield 2: Modern Combat just feels great to play online. Did I also mention that the graphics are pretty decent too? Well they are. Pick-up this game if you have a network connection: now!

This game has everything you would ever want in a completly intens, action packed and, explosive game. This game allows you to switch to any soldier on your team. some characters have shotguns, bzookas, machine guns, pistols and, snipers. You can get in any vehicle like humvees, tanks, jeeps and, helicopters! while in the vehicles you can switch to a back gunner, passenger or machine gunner depending on which vehicle you're in. The explosions in this game are fantasic! the'te so intense big and firey which sends enmies go flying over 30 feet sometimes even more. The story in this game is pretty good too. The whole game is the entire war between the USA and China. The final battle you can choose which country you would like to be. This game delivers you must buy it you won't be disapointed!

I just watched videos and reviews on this game... I think that $10 is a fair price for a "game changing experience" game like this one. I highly recommend this!

EA messed up so bad. For all of you who only own a PS2 DON'T BUY THIS GAME! The online is great, but doesn't exist anymore. The story was a good idea, but half the time you'll be wanting to skip it. At times the game is impossible, and others you can walk around like an idiot shooting a gun. The game requires you to always be serious if you want to level up ranks for new weapons, though half the time what you'll really want is to fool around with the stupid AI. Copters and planes control horribly, so the missions when you must be in a copter are hard. However, EA did a nice job with the infantry controls. Some missions give you a thrill and others you'll wish that you could use cheats, but overall the game isn't worth the time. EA, I love you, but this game sucks. Climate4

Well, this is an amazing game. Starting of with the storymode, it's not that great. It's pretty long, great graphics, sound, everything; but the storyline. You go through 16 missions I think, but the storymode is kinda shakey. You start off playing as a NATO soldier, fighting diferent enemies that include China, and the United States. The thing that keeps me from playing storymode, is you're teammates. At the end of a level, you get stars (which help you rank up and get medals and new weapons) and one of the categories is teamates: if you loose too many, you don't get a star. Well you're teammates are so stupid, and so easy to kill, you can never get the star. Overall, the storymode is ok. But the online: get ready to play online. This game's online play will keep you on for HOURS! It's so incredible, and so action packed, my sister gets scared when someone blasts me with a rocket from 2 feet away. Some levels like Backstab (the classic) is so awesome, you always watch you're surroundings. Someone might have jumped out of a helicopter and is on a tower; with you in him crosshairs of a sniper rifle. I'd give this game an A+++++! Totally worth the money.
