Cold Fear

Players step into the role of Tom Hansen, a U.S. Coast Guard who is sent to board a drifting Russian whaling ship in the middle of a howling storm on the Bering Sea, who will discover there is no safe place here. On this constantly rocking and shifting ship and a mysterious oil rig, players must turn their interactive surroundings to their advantage to take down human enemies - and enemies that aren't human any more - and save their own life.

If you guys have played Resident Evil 4, then you will probably enjoy this game. The story is about a coast guard who boards a ship to investigate a mysterious happening. But little does he know what he's getting himself into! The enemies in this game are almost like Resident Evil 4. Not much of a twist in the storyline, however. Russians are infected with some kind of creature which turns them into almost zombie like. Not all of the Russians are Zombie like, some you will meet will be paranoid and very trigger happy! You will also encounter some other enemies as well. Remember those invisible creatures in the sewers in resident Evil 4? Well, there is a very similar enemy in this game. The weapons are very handy. You get a .45 pistol, shotgun, machine guns, grenades and other goodies. Also there is a lot of back tracking like there was in Resident evil 4. But the only difference is, there is no mapping. So that means you have to run back and try to remember that area that you were in before. It will really will test your navigation skills! The graphics aren't too bad, but Resident evil 4 beats this game over graphics wise. Another challenge is trying to get a head shot on an approaching russian zombie when the ship is rocking back and forth. Kind of adds a challenging twist. The boss you will encounter in the last part of the game isn't really that hard. I would say that this game is no where near as hard as Resident evil 4 was. It only took me 2 days to finish this game. The blood and gore is there as well. I'm not much into horror games, but I thought I would check it out to see what it was like. My conclusion is... I would recommend this game to anyone who is really big into this genre. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Resident Evil 4 is not a valid comparison

You, at one point, say there was a lot of back tracking in RE4. There's not. Only twice do you have to go through an area you've already been in. Other than that, the two games are only similar in their aiming style. Cold Fear is influenced by the much superior Resident Evil games that were released BEFORE the fourth one. they have the same controls, the same camera, an extremely similar story... They'd be the same game, except for the aiming style and the fact that Cold Fear takes place on a boat.
