You have no idea who the victim is but one thing is certain - you've killed him. Without any recollection or reason, you can only guess at what possessed you to do this. But possession is exactly what it is. Unknown to you is that forces of an ancient prophecy are at work, with the fate of mankind hanging in the balance. As you keep one step ahead of the cops, discover what lies beneath these supernatural events... and uncover their connection to an inexplicable crime wave sweeping the city.

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers
I loved this game when it first came out, and I still enjoy it now. I heard quite a few people herald 'Heavy Rain' as a new and innovative direction in gaming, but (while also an excellent game), it did what 'Indigo Prophecy' already did, and IP did it five years earlier.
What this game screams for is a successor, or just a simple remake. Easily the worst part of this game are the graphics, but even then, they're not all that bad, and the only reason they even *seem* poor is because this game was released in 2005. As long as you're willing to embrace the gameplay and story rather than the now-dated looks, 'Indigo Prophecy' will not disappoint. The dialogue requires on-the-fly decision making, with multiple possible outcomes for virtually any conversation, and even the non-action portions of gameplay feel like they have an appropriate sense of urgency about them. Characters are all well portrayed, and the voice acting is excellent.
In summation, there is literally no reason not to buy this game. For $10, you're buying an experience that's virtually unique, and the closest you'll probably get is the $60 'Heavy Rain.' At absolute worst, you'll find a game with a fresh cast and interesting story, and no regrets that you could've gotten more bang for your buck.

There are very few games like Indigo Prophecy. What it manages to do is absolutely brilliant. As long as you're focused, playing through the story becomes a journey. A rare, magnificent journey.
I could never have imagined that the little decision making in this game could have been this much fun. You think quick and put yourself in the character's shoes. Immersion from the very get-go. I like that. As far as stories in games go, Indigo Prophecy triumphs many of even today's games; and it's not an easy task.
Unfortunately, this game is starting to show its age. The graphics are bad, and environments are usually tiny. The controls are at times, maddeningly awful, and the camera will get on your nerves. If there was an updated version of this game, it would be amazing.

This was a unique awesome game of it's time. Color recognization patterns were used (by using the buttons) to control certain action sequences. The storyline is good, places are based on real places, for example when the female cop has to go through a psych ward at Kirby (real criminal psychiatric hospital in NYC) in the dark. There is also a part where she has to find files, it can be a bit confusing so you might want an online walkthrough or game guide for that. If you want a game that's different from the rest, pick this one. I'm still trying to figure out if it's compatible with the 360, and i'd get it again. The graphics were great for the Playstation2 or Xbox systems (came out on both) at the time. The plot is based on saving an Indigo Child (new ager term).

After i played Heavy Rain i heard about this game and managed to find a copy at a local gamestop. i can totally see the resemblence in this game and how they used its technology for the groundwork for Heavy Rain. the story was kinda ridiculous and some scenes were just crazy, but the way they deliver it i found myself intrigued almost as much as with Heavy Rain. the graphics are alright for its age. the controls were horrible, i thought Heavy Rain was a little awkward, but this game here has the most frustrating controls. most of the time is quick time actions which are fun and easy if you have good peripheral vision like i do, but if you dont then you'll probly have difficulty doing alot of the button smashing scenes, which there are a lot and they last a while, and if you make it to the very end of a sequence and fail then you have to repeat from the beginning. theres no checkpoints during them. also you're timed a lot during conversations which i didnt like bcuz some can alter the story telling and i want at least a minute to think about my decision. the story wasnt as great as Heavy Rain, but it was a psychological thriller that kept you guessing and was fun to discover the truth. overall, this game is worth a shot.

This is now my second favorite game ever. With a compelling story, real life situations and twist And turns it is truly the best of its era. Amazingly I watched PewDiePie and found this game. I couldn't find the game any where until I got the indigo prophecy on Xbox live for only 800 Microsoft points. I was blown away by the stunning gameplay and storyline. It is truly an unforgettable game.

For starters, let me say that Indigo Prophecy is an ingenious game and gives a truly unique gaming experience. It gives you three characters to play from and they all connect to each other in the end. One of the best parts about Indigo Prophecy is how engaging the story line is. Like reading a really good book or watching a good movie, Indigo Prophecy's storyline will suck you in and get you hooked and interested throughout the entire game (which takes about 8-12 hours to beat).I won't say anything about the storyline except that it is an engaging murder mystery that ends up being a kind of a love story. Indigo Prophecy's graphics are also top notch, and they really start to impress you the more you play the game. The controls and interface are very weird. They are like nothing that any other game has. You move around normally, but whenever you start combat or another long action it goes into a series of mine games played using the control stick and triggers. The controls can be annoying at first, but once I got used to them I really liked them. Great sound here too, you never really feel like you hear the same sound twice. The last thing to know about Indigo Prophecy is that there is a HUGE emphasis on re-playability. Even though the game is relatively short (as I said, about 8-12 hours long) the decisions you make affect the storyline and little details get changed around when you replay a level. All in all, Indigo Prophecy is an amazing game and I would recommend it to any person who is interested in an alternative and different approach to video gaming. (For those who don't know, this game can be played with an xbox 360 if you get the original xbox patch.)
