COD Fights
Great!

I have had one of these memory cards ever since the PS2 came out and it has yet to fail me! I have a VERY LARGE game library and my memory card is just starting to get full. My friend has a 3rd party memory card and three weeks in it deleted all of his data. This means that you should always go with the makers of the console even if third party storage is cheaper or costs the same for more memory. These are definitely worth the money and they will never fail on you in the middle of a game when you need more memory. Just remember to stick with Sony products unless a lot of customers say otherwise. Nobody has made a better memory card and it has held every game in my library which take up an entire shelf and another storage compartment which is made to help save space. If you have games ( which you probably do if you have this console), then this is a very good deal because you need it to save in the first place

Nothing beats the Official Sony Memory Card
PostedAugust 28, 2008
I once read in a magazine that buying official sony products for your playstation 2 tend to become more reliable than third party products. I agree with that 100%. After going through my share of the "16MB" memory cards from other companies, it just started getting old. You get a third party memory card with more storage and within a week or two it starts corrupting games and slowly leads up to not even working anymore. Luckily I had all my saves "backed up" on the original official memory card made by sony which lasted for (not even kidding) 3 years and still running strong today. I prefer anybody who is looking for memory cards to get the official ones made by sony. Because even though you may come across the ones that hold more, they are not worth your time or money. Stick with sony products to use with your sony system. Or at least products licensed by Sony.

Memory Card is needed to play games. Surprise!
PostedApril 8, 2008
There really isn't much to say about a memory card, but here goes. It holds 8 megs, which is the size you will find on all comparable products from other companies. Other companies might offer cheaper memory solutions, but for peace of mind, I find that 1st party generally performs better, though I don't have much proof to back that up. You have to have one of these things to save games on your PS2, which is kind of the point of playing games in the first place. Don't have one? There goes your awesome Guitar Hero score, your RPG after beating a tough boss, your shooter after clearing a particularly tough game. Beware, these things fill up fast if you are into sports games, as full seasons are notorious for large save files. They rarely break, and do their intended job. Have games for PS2? You need one.

I haven't used one of these for 2 years, but i remember everything about them. I bought one when i got a PS2 and a copy of Socom: Combined Assault which was about 7 years ago. About 3 years after that i bought another 8mb memory card from a friend for $3. Throughout those 8 years, i never had to use that second memory card. The first 8MB memory card was the only one i needed for 8 years.
