I was looking for a new joystick since my old PC joystick required the old style game connector that use to be on old sound cards and my new computer didn't have that. I was just looking for something cheap to use for messing around with, nothing too serious. Money is a big concern to me. I got this joystick figuring that even if it ended up being junk I wouldn't be out much. Turns out this joystick is splendid. Between the joystick itself and the excellent software provided by Logitech to set it up any way you could want you can use this for anything. I use it mostly for World of Warcraft and I consider it my little equalizer. With it and a simple toothpick you can set up some really nice commands for simplifying your gameplay experience. I am currently looking to buy a second one for my other computer. I'll probably buy even more in the future, maybe even modding some for other uses as they are so inexpensive. In conclusion I'd like to say this is a very nice joystick for very little money. Given how much this joystick sells for I can't imagine anyone being disappointed in their purchase.

This controller is solid gold for 2D games, or any game that doesn't require an analog stick. Comfort: The controller feels VERY natural and anybody can get used to it quick. If you frequently use console controllers, you may notice some differences. The first one is the lack of an analog stick, unless all you've been playing is the NES, PS1, or SNES (which, quite frankly, is nothing to be ashamed of). In addition, this controller is lightweight compared to most controllers, which can take some time getting used to. Design: The design is perfect for many emulators and other 2D games. Every button just seems to be in the perfect spot. A retractable cable would have been nice, however. On the other hand, retractable cables can sometimes break and you'll be stuck with whatever position it was on, so maybe the lack of a retractable cable isn't so bad. Durability: This controller can go through excess pressure and multiple drops and still have 100% of all the responsiveness that it always had. Functionality: The controller is plug-and-play, no CD, no drivers, no installation, no menus, no hassle! Just map the correct controls into the input menu (no Xpadder required) and you're all set! Note that the computer does not recognize joystick presses as keyboard presses, so turn off your screensaver if you're playing a game with this controller. Responsiveness: This controller's responsiveness is simply phenomenal. Every single button you push will be recognized.

Most USB gamepads feature dual analog sticks, which are useful for 3D games, but make it virtually impossible to play 2D games. This is because games that automatically recognize and work with USB gamepads tend to accept the left analog stick as the primary (and therefore ONLY) means of movement. This becomes especially problematic in retro or otherwise 2D games that only recognize simple directional commands, as they tend to get confused by analog sticks and register movement commands incorrectly, usually completely disabling movement in one or more directions. Logitech's Precision offers a simple solution, featuring only a D-Pad and no sticks. The absence of the sticks causes games to recognize the D-pad's commands, permitting perfect 8-directional movement. I'm not sure if the controller was actually designed with the intention of addressing this problem, but the fact is it works like a dream. I've never been more satisfied with a USB gamepad in all my life. So, despite its lower price tag and simple appearance, this is actually the best, if not perhaps the only readily available device for playing retro games. There is a small drawback to this device, however. Unlike most controllers, it does not come packaged with any sort of configuration software, so it won't work at all with any game that wasn't intended for use with a gamepad. Most emulators or doujin games tend to be designed with gamepads in mind, however, so chances are whatever you need it for will work with it without need of configuring anything. This is an absolute must for frequent PC gamers, or anyone who just wants to "plug in and play" with complete reliability no hassle.
