Well there many things to say about this game but let me say I love the godfather say every single movie all the way to the end it was a true classic anyways to the game storyline is basically the movie except you get to create a character witch was a fun part and well dozen of things you could make him look like graphics were just terrible sorry but they were just horrible but you really don't pay attention to those because everysingle mission will be hard everyone and you will get frustrated at times and you earn money and move up in ranks for completing them witch feels great weapons were good they have what they had in the 50's tommy gun shotgun magnum not a very good selection at all another very stupid thing is that its extremely hard to find were your supposed to go I've failed Lot's of mission because of it and you will hate it so you will be indeed challenged throughout the game and if you start a mob war well GOODLUCK.cars were horrible very slow I mean it too slow and it's the same cars there's only 3 cars in the game.but out of every single thing wrong with this game it's fun and you won't go threw it with out a fight

Truely amazing

I first saw this game on an addition of game trailers tv, and right off the bat, I wanted it. After years of drooling at gta, we found the closest thing to it. Now that I have gta, I find this game more enjoyable than it.Pros:Open world-even though it's based in one city, it's a huge enviornment and even after three years, I'm still exploring. Also, like in San Andreas you can freely buy safehouses.Grafics: Although this game is PS2, it truely pushes the system to the limit and they still hold up today.Story: This game has an amazing story, if you are looking for a movie game, this is not one. However, there are a few missions that tie to the movie.Controls:The controls for shooting are fairly common place, however, the controls for hand to hand conflict are the only of it's kind.Character Customization: The character customization for this game is great, you can alter your clothing, hair, facial hair, and your face or as they've dubbed it, your mobface.Sound: The sound in the game is great. From the way they shotgun's shot carries to the quick "pow" of the .38 it's perfect. Also, EA got many of the characters from the movie to come and do voicing for the game. This includes Robert Duvall and Marlon Brando (R.I.P) in his final performance.Cons:Game Length: Although it took me a while to beat this, if you stick only to the missions, you could probably beat it in about ten hours.Difficulty: Although at the start the game is quite difficult, around the middle of the game, at about level 30 it is way too easy.Overall, the game is great. The enviornment it's set in is great and overall awesome. A must own for anybody who loves, the Godfather, Grand Theft Auto, or video games in general.

Fantastic! Extremely Fun!

At first I had my doubts about the Godfather. After all, the movie and book were such masterpieces, and most die-hard fans wouldn't want to be dissappointed. But this game is fantastic! The graphics are amazing, and while you may fly through the story missions, there is much more to do (like extorting businesses & rackets, taking over warehouses, and even just random street killings). Once you do enough of all this to reach 90- something percent of the game's completion, you are given infinate ammuntion. This game is challenging- getting "iced" is never fun - but not so hard that anyone couldn't enjoy it. I was pleasantly supprised by the control system, and it makes the game much more fun as you push the "r" joystick violently forward to punch somebody, rather than just hitting square button. The storyline is almost no different then in the movie and book, aside from you being the one who does the dirty work, and eventually destroying the other 5 Families. This may be a dissapiontment that nothing much was added to aside from the final result of your efforts to steal power from other families, but at least that means the story wasn't butchered.There are tons of ways to kill people- using guns, a garrote, dynamite, molotaves, cars, and your bare hands! These events are of course filled with cries of "Somebody call the Cops!" and swells of dramatic music. In short, I would STRONGLY recomend this game to anyone!, keeping in mind the "M" rating of course. There is lots of blood and language in this game, somewhat more than in the movie and book). This is one of the best and most Awesome games I have ever played, if not the best and most awesome. It is almost similar to Grand Theft Auto, but in my opinion at least 5 times better. The Godfather for The PS2 is an EPIC WIN!
