Dark Reign
If all on Olympus will deny me vengeance, then all of Olympus will die.
PostedOctober 19, 2009
Before the review I have this to say, I know for God Of War Chains Of Olympus I put a quote for the headline. I also did for God Of War but they took it off for some reason. So the quote that was supposed to be the heading was "God Of War, I haven't forgotten you. For what you did that night, this city will be your grave." Now on to the review of God Of War 2. It was a game that wrapped itself around its combat, not its storyline. The first God Of War had a great storyline and fed it to the player little by little. You finally know all about Kratos at the last level. In this game... Are you ready for the storyline? Are you ready? Basically it's this... KILL ZEUS! You might be thinking well, why is that bad? Because that is all of the storyline. Unlike the first one, this game tells you everything right away... And there is not much to tell. Basically you play Kratos, an angry "person" who gets killed by Zeus. So after that Kratos is obsessed with killing Zeus. So you start off on your journey trying to find the Sisters Of Fate so you can travel back in time and kill Zeus. Now one thing that people might consider good is that there are more bosses. That is not a good thing. And again, you might ask why? Because most of the bosses don't fit in with the story at all. For example, there is one point in the game where you have to fight a Kraken-a giant sea monster-. When it rose from the sea I was thinking what it had to do with the storyline. It's like the developers of the game had no good ideas so they threw in 6 bosses to kill time. In the first game every boss felt like it should be there. Not so in this game. Anyway, let’s go on to the lighter side. The sound was great and it runs smooth. The controls are easy to learn. The game takes about 10 hours to beat, which is pretty good. This game can get very frustrating because there are way more puzzles than the first God Of War. The graphics were not as good as the first. When I saw the cut scenes in the first game I was amazed by the great look of them. They looked as good as a PS3. On the second God Of War, only about 2 cut scenes look like that. The rest are bad graphic cut scenes. Now back to the combat for a second. The kill sequences are good, but not as good as the first. The first felt more brutal. In the second they still have some but it seems like they "toned Kratos down" if you will. Well, this game is pretty good with a few good boss fight that are worth fighting and if you want an ok game that will keep you occupied for a while get God Of War 2. And if you played the first, you might as well get this. And remember in the words of Kratos..." A choice from the gods, is as useless as the gods themselves." I will be playing and writing a review on God Of War 3 as soon as it comes out. And I will be hoping it will be better than the second.

This is a great game event if you missed the first "God of War"! There is always a way to get through the challenges but it's up to you to figure it out in this totally "BA" game! It is more fun if you do not look up the walkthrough on google but this game can seriously aggrivate you if you do not know what you are doing. It never stops giving you what you want! MORE POWER there is an upgrade menu unknown URNS OF POWER Boss fights if only they would make it for wii imagine that actually swinging the swords around yourself doing the actions personally also the case paper you can turn inside out to show a super awsome picture for god of war 2. And now you can fly in this new installment to the gow series. Also later to come is God of war 3.... Dont believe me open up the case for god of war 2 and look at the users manuel at the back page it will tell you "COMING SOON GOD OF WAR 3" new REAL trailer is on youtube watch out some of them are fake. But then G4 stepped in and got the real one for us Go G4!

God of War 2

This game is very FUN. It has many unique assets to the game including amazing fights in the air, giant boss fights and a many awesome abilities. This game for me was way better then expected, a friend told me to get it or at least try it out sooo i did. It is a very memorable game with lots of gore and fighting. I would definitely recommend this game if you like things like gore, fighting, adventure, and a killer story line. And about the graphics for it, WOW. Crystal clear graphics, couldn't believe how good they were for PS2 you know. It also had many different types of weapons that you could lvl up. There are also 4 different types of difficulty modes. If i were you i would most definitely start out on the easiest because sometimes this game can get very hard and make you feel like throwing your controller at the screen. The hardest mode is Titan, extremely hard. Well hope u buy and like the game, goodbye

Great PS2 Game

GoW2 stunned me at first. It has brilliant gameplay, brutal combat, and an excellent storyline. The graphics are breathtaking, the new combos are sadistic, the context-sensitive endings are tyrannical, and the "goods" from the first games got better. There are a few annoying tweaks though. If you're a button-masher, this game might irritate you. If you triangle to quickly to perform Valor Of Heracules, the game may think you're trying to launch an enemy into the air.Gore disappears after a while, and some difficulties and challenges may be hard for some, esp. Challenge of the Titans. And for your hard earned work, you get a few costumes and urns to activate in bonus play. Also, the ending isnt quite as sastifactory. But all in all, GoW2 is a must buy for fans of: GoW1, Greek Mythology, Gory gameplay, and violent finishing moves. A definite 10/10

The best game i own!!!

Ok first of all i want to give this game a 10/10! This game is both challenging but yet fun at the same time. The graphics are outstanding and the enemies in this game are all so cool. But you also get your money's worth because it comes with a 2nd disc! The 2nd disk features how they made the game, voice acting, the drawings of gow2, and much more. But i would not recommend this game for kids under 10. All and all this game is a absolute MUST HAVE!!! Thanks for reading.
