the psp is almost a literal handheld ps2. if they were to add a second analog stick and l2 +r2 buttons there would be no difference. the graphics and control are insane for a handheld gaming system. the features are insane as well, movies, music, pictures, internet, skype, download games, in game voice chat, internet radio, usb flash drive, wifi, customizable themes, tv connection, and can also be used as a "location free player". it can even connect to the ps3. with a ps3 connection you can play all ps1 games and some others from the PSN. you can even control your ps3 from your psp anywhere in the world that you can get a wifi connection. one thing everybody should acknowledge before judging the games on this system is that it is a handheld. the gameboy's best games were almost always nintendo designed and were very basic games at that. fact is this is not a full out home console. the games that have been released for the psp are great innovations in the handheld market. with releases like god of war, gta, daxter and the soon to be released resistance title, the psp has become an epic handheld game device. also, they do not break as much as easily as people say, i have had my psp since the release in 2005 and the worse thing that has happened to my psp is i let somebody barrow it and they set something heavy on it causing it to have two minor cracks on the top of the face plate. its been dropped numerous times from various heights onto a concrete floor and it still works excellent.

A great system to buy

The psp is a great hand held for anyone.I like how it is a lot slimmer,and smoother than the old one.But the only thing I don't like about this design,is it breaks too easy.Mine isn't broken yet,but a few times I dropped it 5 inches from the ground,it just makes noises when I go to home,but stops after a little while.With this system,you get to go online,play games,download movie,videos,games,watch movies on your psp,and you can go to the playstation network for free,and also download games from the playstation store.The DS and psp is almost the same,except you can watch movies.If you buy this system,you wouldn't regret it,unless it breaks because you dropped it or something,or got so mad at a game you are playing that you can't beat ,that you'll bang it against the dest.Believe me,my little brother sis this,and now it has scratches everywhere on it.

Good system to own

I traded in my ds and bought on of these. It was one of the best things I ever did I think. This has very good graphics for a handheld, and has good games for people age 13 and up. If you are younger, this isn't the system for you. There is a good game selection, most of them are shooters, action, and adventure. There are a few platformers, but not many. Same goes for RPGs. Some games have graphics that are amazing. I highly recommend this, as it can also be used for music and movies. You can even store video! There is also an internet browser for browsing on the go. You can buy stuff from the playstation store too. And, most games have online multiplayer. Its very easy to use if you have wireless internet. You can play with friends, get help, or have an all out war! You should definitely consider grabbing one of these.

I got this thing about a year ago thanksgiving. You do want to buy a game to go with it though. When you get it go to sony.com to get the updated software. The knew one now is 5.02 it came with 2.01. you can also upgrade it with skype .I recommend it . it works great with music .make sure to get the download of media manager of sony. it will save you some trouble. get a nice big memory card if you like music and pictures. you need to make sure to sign up for playstation underground. the music only supports mp3 and wma playback, if you have the internet setup. you need to give it a minute to bricng up the internet browser. it would help if you didnt drop it. it doesnt break but just to make shure. the sound is nice. it would be good to buy the cable for component tvs. this item is very great for all ages.
