One of the best stories in the RE franchise.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica X plays like the oldschool Resident Evil games. The camera angles and aiming system are in fixed locations just like Resident Evil 1,2&3 (with some minor exceptions). This allows for zombies just outside of the screen to be able to attack your character without you seeing them regularly. To avoid this, (HINT), try aiming if you suspect a zombie is outside of your viewing area. If your character looks like he/she locked onto something, shoot a single round and judge the situation from there.
Also, puzzle solving is at its hardest for the Resident Evil franchise yet feels rewarding and satisifying if you take a moment to think about the task at hand. Key items aren't just devices you pick up to solve a puzzle, they can be puzzles themselves. If you get stuck, examine the items you pick up and you may find there is more to the item.
Code Veronica X takes the prize for having the most backtracking in a Resident Evil game. You will find yourself very often traveling through rooms you've seen a couple of times (or several times if your lost).
The difficulty in also higher than average. Ammo and health items are sparse compared to today's Resident Evil games. Use ammo conservatively and use health items only when your near death. Sometimes, it is best to run and conserve what you have too. If you find yourself in excess of items, a boss fight will quickly diminish your inventory especially later in the game. When your out of ammo or healing items during a boss fight, your as good as dead. Your inventory is also limited to 8-10 slots and that includes everything. Weapons, healing items, and key items have to all fit in those few slots so management is done regularly on your inventory.
The story is the best part of the game in my opinion. It takes the history of the previous games and adds more of a direction to why the events happened and where the franchise is heading. This game probably adds more necessary information to the franchise than any other Resident Evil game and at the same time be interesting and easy to understand.
The graphics are decent for its time but aren't the best. Cutscenes are pretty good though. Also, the music and sounds are great!
The game takes about 8-15 hours to beat on your first playthrough depending on how well your memory is and your ability at solving puzzles. There are no difficulty settings whatsoever. There is a ranking system based on how long it took you to beat the game, how often you died, how much you saved, and what you did in specific events. Some rankings will reward you with special weapons. After you beat the game, Battle Mode is unlocked. Here, you can play as either Claire, Chris, Steve or Wesker as you kill everything you see as fast as possible.
Overall its a good Resident Evil game and I highly recommend it for die-hard fans. Gamers not used to the old Resident Evil games might not enjoy the gameplay. The variety of zombies is on the lesser side, and there isn't as much weaponry as you would find in recent installments. This is a SURVIVAL horror game and strongly focuses on puzzle solving.

If you check out the screenshots on this page, you'll see that several other games are mixed in including:
-The Bouncer
-Ape Escape
-Devil May Cry
Also screenshots #18 & #76 are really bad angles of the Chris vs Wesker fight.
I don't know how GameStop approved of them.

The Queen of all zombie shooters

This is a beautifully made game. The graphics are fairly good for a 2001 ps2 game. Though, not matching Silent hill 2, still better than some modern games. The gameplay is fairly good. forward is forward, left is left, right is right, back is back. The lasting appeal is a plus. This game won't get old until you've beaten it 5 times non stop. Also, it includes 2 iconic resident evil characters. Chris and Claire Redfield. Also, as a plus, you get a sniper rifle from A. Ashford. So, when you get the chance, get this game for your console. otherwise you're missing out
