a MUST for the Wii
PostedFebruary 1, 2009
Now that I own Mario Cart, other games for the Wii seem extremely dull and boring by comparison. The controls for this game are smooth and it operates very well. The voice over things for each character and funny and quirky. Not only are the later courses challenging, you will want to play the beginner courses again and again as well. The online wi-fi connect is just a tad disappointing, and so are the choices for carts, but other than that I think the people who worked on this game did an excellent job. The graphics are amazing to me personally, and it loads fast. I think the only sad downside, is your thumb will hurt like crazy if you play for too long. if you start to get a button imprint in your finger, you know its time to take a break. If you are thinking about getting this game for the Wii, go ahead and get it. And get another wheel too. Even though that extra wheel from gamestop isn't a complete wheel, it doesn't matter, you aren't going to be holding that part anyway.

Love this game!!
PostedFebruary 1, 2009
Besides Wii Sports, this was the first game I played on the Wii and I loved it. I have played and loved all of the other Mario Kart games and this one is by far the best. From the 12 player races and battles both online an off, I think this game is amazing. The wii wheel does take some getting used to, but I think it is way more fun to use it. The online functions run smooth, great, and fun! I love how they brought some of the old courses back, just like in Mario Kart DS. I also like the Mario Kart Channel where you can race ghosts, play in tournaments and look at your rankings in time trials. I like how there are so many characters and unlockables. Overall this game is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone from casual to hardcore games. It is a blast!

One of the Best Wii, and Mario Game!
PostedJanuary 29, 2009
First there was Mario for the NES, than for the Gamecube, for GBA to, and also for the Nintendo DS, however, none of those games can compete with this ultimate game! I've just gotten this game a few days ago, and already it blew me out of my seat! Characters-awesome, graphics-even better, and the race tracks-the best feature! Another great feature about this game, is being able to play up to 4 players, it's better than playing by yourself, and way better than a regular ps2, which you need a multitap to get 4 players. I had to get through alot for this game, and it was so worth it, at almost every store which selled video games where all out! I didn't unlock alot of characters yet, I only got Rosalina, King Boo, and Diddy Kong, but I've seen all the other characters, which makes me more eager than ever to get em all! The Wii wheel, which automaticly comes with the game, makes the driving experience, alot more realistic, and kind of helps you with you real-life driving, because I tried! The challenge of this game can get harder as you advance in the game, i'm pretty much having trouble staying in first because everyone throws shells at me. Theres also an addition of a few new items, like that big mushroom from New Super Mario Bros. that makes you huge and squash your opponents, theres also a POW block that hit everyone atsept you, and the most iritating weapon has to be that thunder cloud that follows you (you have to ram your opponnents to give it to them before it shocks you). The action heats up whenever you go on Nintendo Wi-fi too, challenging racers from around the world, which reminds me, that you could also play as you Mii, at a certain point in the game. But the only downer, is that retarded introduction, when youy hold down 1 and wait for a while at the title screen, it shows Mario and Luigi, floating and raming into eachother, and Peach comes out of no where a full-on booty-bumps Luigi, and he gets sent flying, which is really dumb of the producers for doing that, but i don't blame them, every good game has to have atleast one downside. I highly recomend this outrageous game, and overall, I give this game a 9.999, on a scale of 1 through 10. So america, as soon as you see this game, quickly grab it and don't let anyone take it from you!

Family Fun Racing!
PostedJanuary 19, 2009
Pick up a copy of this and be sure to be satisfied. With over 20 tracks, 15 characters(including using your Mii to race) and the loads of fun vehicles, you will be at attention for hours. First off lets start with the challenge. It is fairly easy to pick up, but when playing on the harder difficulties, you will surely get your money's worth. Next is the Graphics. For a racing game, MBS(Mega-Byte Stream) is everything. If you lag, it is impossible to tell where you are going, etc...and this game does an excellent job of keeping the stream connected on and offline. So no lag when flying through level after level at blazing speeds. Now we have Sound. You get all the classic Mario ™ sounds from the spinning turtle shells to the banana peels, and they now sound better than ever. After that we have Vehicle Customization. I wouldn't call it 'customization', more like a wide variety of choices. You have your Standard Dirt Bikes(S, M, L) and the Standard Kart; you also have all new and exciting vehicles like the Bullet Bike(Dry Bones), Off-Roader(Waluigi), High-Chair(Baby Mario), and many more. These vehicles are for specific characters, but when using your user-created Mii, you can access all the vehicles, from any person, you have unlocked. Continuing, we have Controls. You can play with the Gamecube controller, Wiimote in a horizontal manner, the Wii + Numchuck Combo, the Wii Classic, and the controller that comes with the game and is by far the most fun, the Wii Wheel. The controls are very simple and will have you crusing around the level in no time, with a learning curve of about 5-10 minutes. '2' is to go, '1' is to brake/reverse, 'B' is to throw/use special object, and flick up with the Wii Wheel on a jump and you can do a trick which gives you a speed boost when landing, but be warned, you have no control when doing a trick, so be careful on the harder levels. Then we have Interface. Nothing too amazing. You have your Single Player, Multiplayer, and Online tabs. Then you have your Character followed by your Kart selection pages. The main reason that this stands out from the other games as a good thing, is how easy it is to navigate the level selection, or any screen. You will be able to get in many races at that pace. Next we have Track Variety, and it is definately a variety. You have your Classic Mario ™ tracks like Luigi Speedway and Bowser's Castle, and some new ones like Treeway and Shy Guy Beach. Some Classic tracks have also gotten revamped with updated level designs, boosts, '?'boxes and much more - including Moonview Highway and other familiar favorites. Last but not least is Vehicle Variety, and there is a ton. You have the Standard Bike and Kart, Mopeds, Monster Trucks, Street Bikes, Baby High-Chairs, Scooters, and much more. And although it is not a 'rating' option on here, I would like to highly acknowledge the Character Variety in this game. You can play from classics like Mario, Bowser, and Waluigi, but there has been new ones added like King Boo, Shy Guy, Dry Bones, Rosalina, etc... They also give you a feature upon completing said amounts of levels in story mode to play as your user-created Mii. This adds a whole new level of playing. All in all, if you have a Wii, pick up a copy. If you don't have a Wii, then get a Wii and pick up a copy. If you love racing games, and the Wii Wheel seems like a step in the right direction for racing games, pick up a copy. If you just have a soft spot for Mario ™ , then pick up a copy. No matter what way you slice it, you won't be dissapointed, Trust me! Rock on!
