the original "Omni"
New Genre! good but has weird flaws

The game is awesome till the space age...and that doesnt take long 4-10 hours depending on gameplay. When you reach space exploration..the game seems at first like OMG!!! its HUGE! and seems super fun for a short while. But then it gets boring fast! as it seems extrememly repetitive(you can never get too far before you have to come right back to your home world because of an attack or pirates or something! then go back exploring or missions and whoala! ditto all over again.) I had so much hope for this game! and I love the game for what effort was put into it, BUT that ends right at space time. I feel SAD that the game doesnt have any multiplayer. the space age "if multiplayer" would have turned this game into the best game of all time for certain!!!!!(however that could have happened..there are alot of possibilities for that!!!)

This game is off the hook I tell you! You can create everything in this game, creatures, ships, tanks, planes, space ships and even the buildings, I kid you not! You will not believe the level of creativity and depth in this games, its mindboggling! Each stage is really fun, full of depth and does not overwhelm you like in other games. You can do so much in this game, explore and colonize planets that can actually have life. There are over 13,000,000 created content that the game will randomly add into your universe so it is full of surprises and you never know what you will encounter. Put your Sims 2 games away and don't waste anymore time with them, Spore is 100x better. BUY THIS GAME IMMEDIATELY and don't waste another hour on ANY other game no matter if its console or PC, Spore is the best so get rid of the rest! Most amazing game ever!

This is probably one of the best games on the market right now. There are so many things to like a bout SPORE. First off, the sound and game graphics are great. The controls are a bit awkward and could take some getting used to, atleast in the creature stage. The ability to play so many different genres of games in one, is another of SPORES great features. From the Cell Stage, similar to Pac-Man, to the creature stage, reminiscent of many RPG style games, and the stages that follow, which will test your strategic abilities, this game is always fun. The SPOREPEDIA function makes gameplay different everytime. Adding your own creatures, and the many already pre-made by Maxis, and you have a different experience with each new game. By far one of the best features of this game has to be the many different creators. Having the ability to customize your own creature is fun and the possibilities are endless, with hundreds of parts and pieces to choose from. It doesn't stop there, though. You can customize EVERYTHING in this game. Your creatures, your buildings, your tanks, ships, and planes, even planets! This is a game that most gamers should look into buying. If you like games, buy it...if you don't, buy it anyway, and you'll atleast have one game you love!!!

First off, this game has a lot of creativity and is definitely different from any game on the market right now. Being interested in science and evolution, I really enjoyed the first two stages of the game; the creature and tribal stages. Once I moved past these stages, things went downhill. The civilization stage, what a horrible experience. The game play is no better than the very first RTS games that came out, except for the fact that there is diplomacy. It is so short, easy, and overly simple, it feels like it was designed by a college student, made for kids. You basically make a bunch of vehicles, and either buy, destroy, or convert rival cities. The only decent thing in this stage is the customization, and the ability to make your own creations. The space stage is even worse. You go around in your spaceship with really bad controls, going planet to planet doing boring missions, while your planets, and good for nothing allies are attacked every minute. You only have one spaceship for your whole empire, while enemy empires attack and defend with fleets of ships. To add insult to injury, the combat controls are horrible, you have to keep on clicking a target to attack it while it moves, or hold down the mouse button. Forget about having fun exploring and fooling around on other planets, whenever you try to get something done, you have to defend your planets, or prevent some disaster. There is also a known bug which freezes the game, even if you have a serious gaming machine. To conclude, the graphics are eye-pleasing, the sound is okay, the customization is simply amazing. Starting at the civilization stage, it feels like the creators just gave up on the game play element, which is utterly horrible. As others have mentioned, one would be better off just downloading the creature creator, which is the best part of the game. Please don't waste your hard earned money like I did.
