An awesome game!!
PostedSeptember 10, 2008
Ok Let me just say that this is one of the best games to ever come out. This is really the best game for any age, I mean come on you get to build creatures and spaceships, what more do you want lol. The style is like a strategy, rts, i guess you can call it an rpg because your actions will depend if your a military kind of person or a peace maker. As you play you start off a cell then creature, tribe and etc. after reading this you must be thinking that oh man theres probably nothing wrong with the game, but there is always cons to many games. Cons; each level isn't very long. what i mean by this is that you start on one stage and then you go to another, and another, until the space stage which gets pretty long. That leads me to the next con the space is Repetitive, after that you do the same thing over and over and it kind-of gets old. But after that there is not that many cons from my point of view. If you like to create and pretty much everything BUY THIS GAME SPORE RULES ,Metalm

Coolest game I have
PostedSeptember 10, 2008
I do own several games, but Spore beats them all. Cool graphics, good sound, but the game action is the best. One does not have to be a FPS, actually I try to play it w/o violence. Okay, I killed one amoebae, as it was green and I thought it was food. Well mistakes happen in evolution. I cannot wait to see what happens when I get to a stage beyond tribal - a lot of food I have to give away. It's like being a chef, get new customers! Best of it, the game makes me HAPPY! Unlike cool games I have, e.g. R:FOM, Oblivion, etc., this one is addictive. Congrats to the developers at EA, best game so far I ever played. Only two caveats, it's not on PS3 and the performance is sub-optimal on a MacBook Pro w/ 2.1 GHz Duo Core. So on a Mac you better have the new MacBook Pro's to play it (Duo 2). But it does work fine for those who wonder. Clearly a 8-10+ or a "My wife would play that" rating, if such rating exists. I guess that kids under 8 don't even know what evolution can bring.

AWESOME!

That one word describes this game.. The cell stage is pretty fun and addictive, the creature stage fun as well, the tribe phase wasn't my favorite, the civ phase is ok, but most of all the space stage is AMAZING! Visit hundreds of thousands of planets that are unique with unique creatures on all of them. Do quests, explore, you don't just fly in space. You can land, go into any planet with your ship and see the creatures below! The graphics are good for this type of game. You can't rate this game traditionally because the concepts are new and the creation tools are awesome. How about creating any type of creature, spaceship, vehicle, building, etc? Yep. How about randomly downloading over 3 million creatures that others have created onto planets? Yep. Simply AWESOME!

Reminds me of last years Patriots team

Yes, you read that right. Spore is being compared to a football team and here is why. Out of the gate, Spore seems like it is going to blow the doors off any game you have ever played. The Cell stage does not offer much in the way of creativity because you are limited on parts, but come on man, you're a cell. Once you evolve to land, things get a bit more interesting. In Creature stage, you roam the land befriending or hunting other creatures. You get your base DNA by accomplishing these tasks. New parts become available for doing this as well, or you can find them on skeletal remains laying around. This stage is fun and challenging as it determines how your creature continues to evolve in the later stages. Tribe stage, while much more linear and simple, is a riot just because the creature interactions are great. You can continue to befriend or destroy depending on your game style tastes. It loses a little steam here but is still a lot of fun as the customization is limited to what your creature can 'wear' as its tribal garb. Civilization stage is where it starts to fall apart. Yeah, you can design all your buildings and vehicles, but you are limited to just one type of each. There are no multiple vehicles that your civilization can have. One land, one sea and one air unit and that's it; not very imaginative or anywhere near realistic for an RTS game, which this game quickly becomes. It's very simplistic at this point; buy, persuade or kill your enemies, and all three are so incredibly easy to do it isn't even funny. Space stage is where the game chokes hard. It becomes this boring and time consuming micro-management exercise that takes all the fun out of a once creative, silly and endearing game. You spend most of your time running from planet to planet picking up the spice you harvest to then go and sell to other species hoping you can find one that will give you more than a few dollars for each load. But wait, that's not all While doing that you will have to deal with pirates raiding your planets, eco-disasters breaking out or the main villain of the story attacking your so-called allies. As if that weren't enough, you are supposed to expand your empire and find time and money (yes, the love of money is the root of all evil in this game) to terraform planets so you can start the whole process all over again. If you like your games to be more like a full-time and frustrating job, then the space stage is for you. So, much like the New England Patriots from last season, Spore goes strong until the very end where it chokes big time and falls far from greatness or perfection. I would not recommend this game, to be honest. If the creation angle is what you are looking forward to, just buy the Creature Creation tool and enjoy your money because it cost less than the game, but gives you 90% of the fun.
