The concept is simple enough a toddler could have created it, yet there's more than enough here to justify the cost! The idea... destroy various structures made of blocks for points while furry little creatures cheer you on. However, the your tools of destruction aren't just limited to smashing these creations in a blind fury. You can do anything from throwing a number of objects (each with unique properties) to firing weapons to even using pieces of the structure you're destroying as a wrecking ball! The game can be played either alone or in a group, leaving open huge party gaming potential at a moments notice. Finally, if the mere 300 levels of chaos included in the game doesn't satisify you, there's a complete level editor built into the game itself that allows you to modify the existing game levels or create your own... just like when you were still running around in diapers! This game is one of those rare gems that any self-respecting Wii owner should have in their collection.

This game is geared for older players, however it also has entertaining qualities kids enjoy! I played this game for hours and only completed 32%. Many options to choose from including several multi-player modes. It is a puzzle game ranging from Jenga to shooting (not guns, lasers). You have a create feature allow you to go in and design your own puzzles, which then you are able to upload online. You have individual play where you have to go in puzzle by puzzle to unlock more games avaliable. The downfalls include ... 1. If you are unable to complete a puzzle you are unable to move on. Ultimataly you are left waiting for luck to finish. 2. Arm becomes sore very quickly. 3. Only some many times you pull blocks out before it has this repeatative feel. Keep in mind the puzzles are not the difficult, so eventually you will succeed. and once you do, you will move on to other things that are not so boring. Spielberg definatily out did himself on this one. *Very impressive game.*

This game is perfect for: kid gamers
Now, most of you probably think this game is a gift from the gods, and some of you think it is a waste of space, I have to say that this game is at the EXACT middle. This game now has you throwing baseballs, bombs, marbles, and a bunch of other stuff at a very creative way of organized blocks. Each block can do it's own special thing, like purple swirl blocks vanish when hit, and when green chemical blocks make contact with another one, they explode. So this game always make you think about what you have to do before you throw, and you always want to think to, because this game has rules, where if you complete the objective in a certain amount of throws, or in a period of time, you will get a medal. And you HAVE to get a medal for every level, because if you don't you have to do the level again. Now, this game may be really easy to some people, and impossible for others, but this game does offer some fun multiplayer. So, if you want a fun destruction game to play with friends, give it a try. But, if you like to play alone, or online, think again.

WOW!! To my surprise I am truly impressed with Boom Blox I mean when you first play the game it takes a while to get use to the controls but when you get a hang of it I can promise you that you will get addicted to this game. Steven Speilberg is certainly a genius for coming up with this game. So if you are a person looking for a casual/hardcore game then this is the one. For example you might only plan to beat one level and turn it off but after you play that one level you get into it and play the next and the next etc. till you finish the game. I am sorry but I guarantee you will get addicted to this game no matter what. As far as graphics are concerned they are pretty good... sound is alright to. The thing that impresses me the most is the overall physics of the game. This is definently a great buy and a must for your wii library.

Boom Blox is a good game. Its defined controls and challenging levels are nothing to sneeze at. It has 4 game types that are all a blast. The first one is firing. You fire at point blox to get points to win gold, silver or bronze, but there are penalty blox that remove points when shot. There is throwing, that when you aim lock on then hurl the baseball bombs or bowling balls to knock over towers or knock point blox into multipliers. There's building where you build blox into multipliers for points. There's dismantle where you use the remote to remove blox for points without knocking off the penalty blox or baby cows. There's also many game modes like explore or adventure create mode is easy to use and a blast, literally. Sound gets repetitive when you play western mode or any other theme for too long. The controls work very well, and it's challenging to try to get gold on everything. All in all this is one sweet game.

This is a fabulously addictive game that can give your arm such a workout you'll be nursing a sore arm the next day! The different modes change up the action, personally I like to throw things to make the blox fall down but the pull featured games are great for when you're arm simply cannot throw any longer. It's a great two player game, that would even work at a party. My family has probably played this game more than any other except for Wii Fit and everyone agrees that they love it. The colors and graphics are well done, throwing a baseball and hitting one of the little blox guys cheering you on makes for a lot of laughs as they react to getting hit. It's a game you can play for 30 minutes or hours and never get bored, in fact the biggest problem you'll have is knowing when to stop playing. Would have given this a 10, however the controls particularly when throwing don't work as well as they could and I find that you have to throw a little too hard which can make it difficult for a younger child or someone not so physically able. Other than that, this game is an entertaining, addictive game that everyone wii player should own!

Boom Blox is the perfect example of a fun and funny game. You can do many things in this game like throw objects at towers to knock them down and blast objects. I must say though that the create mode is VERY challenging if you want to build something from scratch. Even with a steady hand, it is still difficult to build it on your own. I would say just use already built towers to entertain yourself. The selection of weapons to use to knock down a tower is pretty fair. You can use bowling balls, baseballs, BOMBS and even a garden hose! The multiplayer games are also very exciting to play with your buddies. This makes an ideal birthday party game to play when the weather isnt so great. The controls to the game are very good indeed. They are straight forward and easy to use which make for instant play for a while. I would say this is money well spent indeed!

THE BOOM BLOX MASTER
Boom blox is a good game but some parts don't work as well as they could. While the WII controller does represent the physics of these elements (exploding boxes, throwing balls) pretty well, it falls short when the going gets tough. For instance when your task is to throw baseballs to protect the "trick or treating" Mitten Kittens from the real monsters that are trying to get them, the throw mechanism seems to work well, however as the need to throw faster arises sometimes the reticule gets frozen and you can fail the mission because you can't throw fast enough. Also, when positioning items such as the pieces of a bridge, sometimes the item sticks to your grabber tool and does not place as you intended. Often this will cause you to fail your mission. Furthermore the difficulty within the levels ramps up too quickly. While the levels begin almost at too easy a skill level, they quickly become too hard for younger players to figure out. The characters are cute, the excellent level creator provides hours of entertainment and I would recommend this game, however I would caution users that the quirky controls may leave you in the lurch.

When I heard Steven Spielberg was making a video game, I was cautious about how good it would turn out, considering his last foray into the gaming world was ET for the Atari 2600. However, I shouldn't have been worried as Spielberg delivers the goods with Boom Blox. Like many other Wii games before it, Boom Blox takes a laid-back approach to gaming. You're in no hurry to do anything, and you can play the game however you want. Thankfully, there are many things you really can do, and every single one of these things is great. The controls are fluent, the graphics are clean, and the sound is fun but not too annoying, either. The game has a very easy set-up, and I can imagine gamers of any age enjoying this game. In conclusion, Boom Blox isn't the best game out there, but if you're looking for a good game to blow a weekend on, this is it.

Boom blox is one of the unique video games to me. Why I think this is one of a kind is because it was made by Steven Speilburg. In Boom blox you play as any animal you choose and you can throw, grab, and blast; warriors, castles, and much, much more. Sometimes the levels don't have the right amount of interface you need. (Interfaces means directions given) I am stuck on a part but I'm trying the best I can to get out of it. This game is very cool especially when you bomb the warriors. But this game is more of patients, and somebody who loves blocks. This game is good with the motion detecting. You get to swing, pull, and throw. Another bad thing about the game is the graphics. Th graphics are pretty lame if you ask me. So and so, if you ask me this game is very fun, but it tends to get complicated and the graphics are bad.

This game is a great way to have fun and it actually gives you some excercise.I love throwing baseballs at random figures, and I love playing it with my friends. One Player mode is just as fun, and I am currently stuck on one level. My friend owned this game before me and I would always love coming over to his house to play this fantastic game. When I got this as a gift I was thrilled. Now my friends can come over and have the joy of this game. This game is great for people who like to throw things and for people who like to blow stuff up.The create mode is great for you to create your own levels, and you can also have the experiance of playing them yourself. Even people around the world can play your own original levels. My whole family loves this game, and it is for all ages. I highly reccomend It!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok Steven Spielberg took a very simple concept and has created a very addictive game. Boom Blox is basically just that blowing up blocks to achieve points. Don't let the cutesy pie presentation fool you. The game has a ton of modes and some of the puzzles will have you going back multiple times just to see if you can get gold. You do not just have to see a puzzle from one angle. By holding the B button you can look at the puzzles from every direction to find the best shot for you baseballs or even to find weak points in the numerous stacks of blocks. But it is not just about knocking over things. Some blocks explode some disappear some are bombs and some explode on contact with like blocks and some you have to remove Jenga style. The addiction comes when you have to destroy a puzzle with a limited number of shots and you have to do the same mode over and over because you just know there has to be that one magic shot that destroys everything in on toss of the Wiimote. This is no GTAIV or Metal Gear or Mario, but it takes a basic gameplay mechanic and does it very very well. I think you if you try it you will like it. And come on who doesn't like monkeys in cowboy hats and mustaches.

Okay so I tested this game all week, and to be honest it really is not all that bad. On the market now most puzzle games are cookie cuttered from the same basic template with just a slightly different look to it. Boom Blox is actually different in an above average kind of way. Now I wouldn't say go out an buy it right away, it is definitely worth a rent first, but nonetheless it is something worth investing a little bit of time if you are the kind of person that enjoys more than a mindless point, shoot, kill game. If this game were able to be reviewed right now I would be giving it an overall 3 1/2 out of 5. As far as the puzzle genre goes it sits close to the top of the ladder, however Zack and Wiki still dominate the puzzle genre for the Wii.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers
The central concept of this game is simplicity: you throw a ball at a pile of bricks and they fall down. But it is SO difficult on so many levels that it is far more entertaining and engaging than you could possibly think. The physics involved can be equally frustrating and enthralling, and therein lies the high replayability of the game: small changes in positioning your throw can lead to huge differences in how the bricks fall. It is easy to get lost in the game as it moves quickly and there is unbelievably lots of diversity in the levels and in the blocks. Just because one angle of attack works on one level does not mean it will work the same on the next. And for multiplayer it is a joy, as you can watch your laboriously setup work exploited by your opponent (or even watch them destroy an entire level in a lucky toss that you'll try to duplicate for the next few weeks!). The time of Wii-dominance is clearly over, and much has been made of how it lost the console battle for hardcore gamers (whatever that means), but this title is a lasting addition to the creative gaming world and deserves a place in the console in any household. When friends ask me why I own a Wii ... this is the game I show them: entertaining, challenging, and social, it is simply one of the most fun games I've ever played.

It's a lighthearted game and it's really fun and addicting. I first played this game at my brother's house ( I had never heard of it). We wanted to play the wii so he suggested this game. There are several types of games involving the blox, and the little animals that stand on or around the blox were fun to hit and knock down; they make goofy noises. I would definitely recommend this game if you're gonna play with several other people. It can get competitive and it's fun to watch others attempt to knock down and pull blox. It's fun and can be amusing to play by yourself but it's definitely one of those games thats made for multiple play!

This game is a lot of fun. I love playing this game with groups of friend or even relatives. I had older relatives from out of town visiting and they loved it just as much as my room mate who a a hardcore gamer (they beat him too!) If you want a game that has a reasonable amount of variety and and can be played by anyone this is your game. Don't expect to be dazzled by graphic, but a game like this is about game play not trying to dazzle your eyes.

While I can't speak on how great this game would have been at $50, $35, or even $20, I can speak on how good it is at $3.50 (which is how I much I paid for it during the 50% off sale). Even then it's worth it at the "full" $7 for a Pre-Owned copy. Fun game, easy to pick up. Definitely has that "one more level" addiction-type quality to it.
