gta on the go. what more to say?
PostedJune 11, 2010
what more is there to say? its grand theft auto in your pocket. well, me personally i haven't played san andreas and gta 4, so theres not much to compare to for me. in other words, this is the best gta for all i know. but on the other hand, it is by far my favorite psp game. this game just has so much to do in it! so stunts, cause mayhem, play a well put together storyline, and the list goes on. the story is different from the original vice city, as you play as a dude named vic vance. his brother is sick and needs support from vic as hes already in the army. the seargent asks vic to do a few drug related jobs for extra dough which vic reluctantly embarks on. then he gets fired from the army and gets tied up in gang violence, drugs, and a whole bunch of other stuff. the challenge of this story can be easy at times, and frustrating at others, but a perfect mix up of the two. also, the graphics are amazing for this type of game, but nothing really amazing. the length is the thing that makes this game my favorite. i remember playing other games for 20 hours, and it seems like so long. but this game, i play for that long and it seems like ive only done 10% of everything to do in this game. the side missions, mayhem to cause, the storyline, all adds up to one of the longest psp titles you will find. the controls are alright, although it does take some getting used to to shoot with the circle button. there are some but few flaws of this game. the game does lag a little when the screen is full of cops chasing you and when you speed down the seaside at crazy speeds. to sum it up, grand theft auto vice city stories is one of the best titles on the psp to date. with so much to do, this game will not be a disappointment as you will find yourself playing this game for hundreds of hours. so get this game!

Rated M for Magnificent!

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories is somewhat one of the good GTA (Grand Theft Auto) game to ever hit the PlayStation Portable! However, since newer versions of GTA are out, Vice City Stories doesn’t give you much…excitement. It features a brand new storyline with some returning characters from the original Vice City classic---Lance Vance, Diaz, etc. --- and there are some brand new characters joined in Vice City Stories. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories still takes place in Miami, Florida---otherwise known as Vice City--- but now it takes place 2 years before the events of the original Vice City, so that means you’re going to find some minor tweaks to the game’s background, texture and of course soundtrack. The plot of this game is about Victor Vance---Lance Vance’s brother--- being in the army in Vice City and then being kicked out of the army for hiding marijuana under his barracks thanks to Jerry Martinez, his former supporting officer. After he has been kicked out of the army, he plans on taking revenge on Jerry Martinez…the hard way. Sometimes the game gives out missions that aren’t really connected to the plot, but each of them has got their own twist in them. Sometimes, missions do partially have something to do with the plot one way or another. Because there’s no second analog stick, gameplay is kind of tough, if you want to free aim---meaning that you make your own targets instead of the computer picking a random target---, you hold down the R button + the down button on the D-Pad and use the analog to aim around. Using your camera is a bit tricky to do---you use the R button for camera---. The normal angle in the game is adequate, the camera’s facing you, you can see the surroundings around you and it’s not glitchy in any way. However, when you’re driving a vehicle, you can change the camera that fits your driving skills---there’s also a cinematic, Hollywood car chase camera which is perfect if you’re getting chased by police. But that camera style does have some camera glitches. For example, sometimes the camera faces another car and then you can’t tell if your car’s on fire and then you die because you couldn’t see where the heck you’re driving, so I wouldn’t use that camera style for missions.--- Some missions take more than a few times too finally beat, like at first a mission seems easy and then BAM! they spice up the challenge a notch. I also want to talk about the AI in this game. The police AI aren’t no GTA IV but the higher police force is smarter than the original police force---they shot well because they got stronger weapons, and they take cover more often---. Note, if you wear headphones whilst playing this game, you can hear more dialogue in the game and the cars, heh you can hear more ROAR in the engine and it sounds similar to the original Vice City. Without the headphones, it sounds a bit muted and it isn’t very loud. You may hear some soundtrack hiccups while listening to music---well I do---, but it isn’t no big deal. To animate the game, they use three-dimensional polygons and then smooth out the polygons. It does look similar to the original Vice City, but they add more color effect to both the buildings and characters, making it clearer and sharper than the original. The cut-scenes do have some classic mature humor but not often. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories is better than the original and its predecessor in everything with the exception of graphics. But since there’s a new era in Grand Theft Auto, it’s not as fun.

GTA Vice City!!!!

OK. So this is probably the best game you will find on the PSP. The graphics are great, and the storyline is beyond excellent. The sound is good but not perfect. But dont get me the wrong way, the games still awesome. The game is pretty long, but its hard sometimes, so it makes it feel longer. The controls are great. There is just one little problem. It has some glitches that can be annoying. but overall its a great game. I would recommend it to anyone who likes rampage (by rampage i mean shooting and killing people for no reason ) , fun , great story game. One more thing. To parents who are reading this review , you may take this game as a horrible game. If your kid wants (and he or she is 11 or more years old and mature) you should get it. Its not that violent). But anyway, this a great game and if your a fan of GTA, you should definitely get this game.
