Xenosaga 3 is the last game in the series which should of been a six part series. the story is focus on Shion and her hot weapon friend KOS-MOS this time. The story goes to Shion's past and to the present. With no spoilers I will not give I was so hooked to the story. The graphics were better then two but one problem slow downs. The gameplay was finally better then the last two, the skills which you can require from winning monsters is much much better then two which you have two skill lines to focus on. The sound... well just say the voices are good the first Shion voice over is back along with KOS-MOS voice over. Now the music yes this one brings the space oprea alive! For the first time in a RPG game that I played different boss songs for the big main boss which I find that really great. The game could last you 40 hours or more if you find the hidden goodies in the game and lets not for get a werid puzzle game which was very funny to play. If you haven't play the other two thats okay the game offers a backstory to part 1 and 2. But if you want to play the other two please do cause you will get how the story goes abit more.

For those who have played the other two games in this trilogy and/or Xenogears are going to be more than pleased with this installment. Episode III brings to the table revisions and additions of epic proportion, especially in comparison to the previous two games.First of all, the graphics receive an incredible make over. The "human-like" models from Episode II are trashed and we receive a more cinematic appeal. Also, along with the graphics update, we lose all the awful voice acting that was thrown at us in Episode II, with the return of a few voice actors from Episode I. We also see a return to shops, items, equipment, and money! In addition to everything else, the game holds many hidden quests, all of which are rather rewarding, for example with characters new "Ultimate Weapons".This game does not hold any disappointments. From the very beginning you are enthralled and rewarded all at once. The combat system has been advanced, combining aspects from the previous two games as well as a more classic RPG style, with addition to a few new tweaks. Also, characters now develop their own set of skills through the Skill Tree System, similar to that of Episode I.Remember in Episode I how you could customize your A.W.G.S? Remember how they took that away from you and gave you E.S.'s that were near pointless? WELL! Guess what?! You still pilot your E.S. Dinah, Zebullun, and Asher, along with the new E.S. Reuben, but now you can once again customize them with new weapons, accessories, and parts such as generators! The most captivating aspect of this final installment though would have to be the finally complete storyline. As those who played the first two games know this storyline can get rather confusing at times, especially when they like to jump in at random moments and throw you about 12,000 new things to wonder about (which happens all the time). For a while they still do this to you, but it is all very much worth the mystery and excitement of figuring out the story. But, if you are confused about anything at all, do not fear! The game has a Database option right on the in-game menu that lets you review anything and anyone you ever met or heard of in any game.Overall, this game is NOT to be passed by. It is, as the title of my review says, an Instant Epic Classic, just as Xenogears was. Buy all three parts (which are a total STEAL for the price they are listed for) and enjoy the most enthralling, promising, rewarding, and captivating story you will ever receive from an RPG.

BEST GAME EVER LOVEZ IT

This game is 100% perfect to my opinion storyline, graphics (best possible for ps2), especially voice acting, character development. the game play and cinematic time length. This game so far is the best game I have ever played, beats all the games i seen heard of played for the ps2 and ps3. Wish they made a continuation of the storyline, or at least a re-make of the trilogy. This game would of definitely been a great hit if it wasn't for the screw up in Xenosaga episode II

I've always been an RPG nut, ever since I first played FF on the SNES. But seriously, this game ROCKS!!! Graphics: The graphics are VERY well done. The game is optimized to the point where it looks almost as good as a 360 game (minus HD). The character design is incredible, with high-poly models. Gameplay is de-emphasized for the story line. Story? I would have to say that this is one of the absolute best stories I've ever seen, period. The soundtrack is also nothing short of amazing. If you did like I did and ordered the first two after being amazed by the third, you'll definitely notice a difference. I can't make any real comparisons since i haven't finished the first two. One last thing: KOS-MOS FTW!!!!!!!

Every aspect of the game is beautiful, from the graphics, to the character development, to the heavy story the game tells. I only have minor problems with it, one being the footsteps are too loud, another being the anime style seems to detract from the story. 7 years after its release, I still play it and love it, but good luck finding a copy.

The Xenosaga series is good enough to buy an old PS2 just to play it...... the story might be the best in any entertainment medium ever and the gameplay is just great. The series is very sci-fi and has a very strong anime influence in terms of story and characters.... this can take a little getting used to if you are not familiar with anime... but it is worth the investment of time and energy needed to fully appreciate this amazing trilogy.
I won't get into the story at all except to say it is very entertaining and it doesn't leave a whole bunch of unanswered questions at the end of game 3. The first 2 games are both worthy of discussion but I shall concentrate on the 3rd installment here; in addition to neatly wrapping up this complicated series it also contains vastly superior graphics, sound, and gameplay as compared to the first 2. The music is AMAZING.... perhaps the best music of any game I've ever played.
I usually write REALLY long reviews but in this case I'm keeping it short (for me) and sweet..... if you enjoy RPGs you owe it to yourself to play this series. You MUST start with Xenosaga I as jumping in midway will lead only to massive confusion and will make the plot twists lose their punch. This series is somewhat linear in that you go from area to area in a certain order.... there are lots of side quests and secrets within each area and you have a large area to explore in each area, but you won't get a huge overworld map and be able to freely travel all over the world (universe). I typically enjoy open-world type RPGs and having more freedom but this series is so good that I can overlook the idea that this isn't my "prototypical" RPG.
Just writing this review is making me strongly think about replaying this series for the 3rd (or maybe 4th) time...... all 3 games combined clock in at well over 100 hours (probably closer to 130-150) but it is time well spent to any RPG fan.
