Stephen's Girl
Good Product, Bad Design
PostedOctober 27, 2008
I've had this product for about 6 months and it just stopped working. It has a factory flaw and will no longer charge. It's really a bummer, because now I can't play my Wii. It eats batteries too much. It was a good idea so you don't go through batteries. Also, you can't have any skins on your Wiimotes or anything. You can't really have the wrist straps either, because they get in the way of setting the Wiimote right in the cradle. Its very touchy and if you bump it at all it won't charge. Plus sometimes you have to pick it up and put it back in there to get a full charge. Its really a pain when all you want to do is play games. Like I said, its a good idea and a pretty good design but it just doesn't work at all. If your looking for a good charger I would recommend the ones that have the holder for the Wii. Little bit more money, well worth it.

Didn't work for me.
PostedOctober 15, 2008
I bought it figuring it would save me some money. I have 3 Wii remotes and it comes with 2 rechargeable batteries, sounded like a good deal. So I placed the battery in the Wii remotes and put the special battery covers on (something I didn't really like, if they had invested some more time they could have just channeled the power through the nunchuck port). And guess what? It didn't work. I did everything it said to. So I swapped the batteries around and after some trial and error, only one battery out of 2 worked with one remote out of 3. The other battery was a dud, and it just didn't work with the other remotes, I don't know if anybody else had this problem. The base itself is awkward and hard to put the remote on. The remotes lay back on the base and a conductor goes through a hole in the back of the battery cover and connects to the battery DIRECTLY, like I said before, if they invested more time they could have fixed this. I found myself having to jiggle the remote and twist it until it said it was charging (a blue light) and after it is fully charged a green light comes on. The green light came on after about a half hour after only charging the remote up a little, and I soon got the "Low Battery" message again. It still wouldn't charge it up any more than a little, so I finally just said the heck with it and took the rechargeable battery out.SUMMARY: This product didn't work for me and seems overrated. I found it poorly designed and when it did work it would only charge up the remote a little. To put the remote on the station is awkward and takes a while to get a connection. I didn't really like the different battery backs and I think that if they took a little more time with it they could have made it a lot better.

An excellent charger
PostedSeptember 3, 2008
Well for those of you who love to play the Wii as much as i do, you probably could have bought a whole entire house with all the money you've used on batteries for the wiimotes, in the past 6 months. Ok maybe not that much but pretty close. Anyways i bought my nyko charge station 5 months ago and it has been working great ever since. When you buy it it comes with two rechargeable batteries, a charger, and to covers for the batteries. the batteries charge really fast and last longer than normal batteries. It also gives you a place to put your remotes when your not using them. The only thing i did not like about the charger was that the covers don't fit as well as the regular ones do. They usually slip around on the back of the remote. In all this is a great product and I highly recommend it as it will save you a ton of money on batteries.

Excellent

This thing is a money saver. If you play more than a couple times a week, this will save you money on batteries. I've had mine for more than a year and it is working great. I have had no problems with it getting to charge or fitting into my guitar hero guitars. The backs are rubber coated so as to make them a little more no-slip. The charge station features two lights that tell you when the controllers are charging or done charging. The only downside to this is that if you are used to or enjoy using the wrist strap or rubber covers, you have to take each of these off every time you charge, as they will interfere with how the remotes sit in the charger. If you are tired of hassling with batteries or making runs to go get more, this is for you.
