I literally just bought this wii and i tried to go to wii shop channel after setting up my wifi. It said it needed a update. I go to get the update but it said it has modified content and my not update. Nintendo said they can't help if its modified, and i cant even go on the shop channel!

Wii was pretty cool for its time with its motion controllers and its games But its hardware and software oh boy where do we start Well lets start of with DLC (downloadable content) wii rips you off with it VC (virtual console games) sonic and knuckles is 800 Wii points 8$ us with the xbox 360 sonic and knuckles is 240 Microsoft points which is about 3$ us.
Now lets movie on two graphics Oh jeez, Nintendo blew it with this one . Xbox360 and ps3 both have hd (1080p). Wii cant even do HD it can only do 480p. talk about lame and the wii graphics will make you puke have you seen black ops graphics on wii
Controller Well whilst motion controllers were cool for its time we moved on now the 360 and ps3 have motion controllers now. the battery life is atrocious look: PS3 controller 20 - 25 hours without batteries 360 controller 30 hours+ bateries wii remote 10 hours Batteries

So I had my Wii for 4 years now and it finally died. Now all it says is cant read disks. I definitly will pre order the Wii-U when I can but for now I am just going to get another Wii but refurbished. I did have some good times on my Wii playing MW3 and BlackOps. But time to get another Wii and the the Wii-U. Eventually I might look into a PS3 or PS4 (when it comes out).
