it's not that bad

When I was 12 I bought this system with my own money and it didn't break down on me.I like the PS3 because I get to download music, movies, Youtube videos, and wallpaper's. And I think that this is better than the slim because it's piano black and also because it has 4 usb ports and that it's much easier for me to upgrade the hard drive and I don't really know that much about the slim because I have not really looked at 1 from the back. Oh and also because it's backwards compatible with ps2 and ps1 games.

DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!
PostedMay 26, 2012
I bought one of these, it came in today hooked it up, had to reformat HD, got that done then the blu ray drive wouldn't do anything, figured I'd send it back, looked and it came with the warranty sticker ripped off, so it arrived with the warranty void. So I paid $260 for a PS3 that doesn't work, came with the warranty already void, stuff rattling around inside, the top is broken and flopping around. Also the cooling fan won't even turn on, syatem overheated within 5 minutes of turning on. So from this experience I will never buy a game system from gamestop ever again. Seriously hating life right now.

Warranty sticker is for SONY
onOctober 14, 2012
This is GAMESTOP refurbished, so Sony has nothing to do with the warranty! Gamestop ripped that sticker off to fix it...

ill be a PlayStation man till i die, but if you deiced to buy refurbished from Gamestop, don't. i got this system few months ago and out of the box everything was fine, worked great for a long time, then i heard a loud poping noise while playing Black Ops one night, which was just the fuse in the power supply poping, but when i took the case apart(becuase the warranty was up seriously a week before this happened) i noticed many odd things. the Blu-ray Player was not mounted completely, the power supple had 1 screw left in it which was stripped, and the HDD drive cover no longer had the clip which holds it in place. so basically after i completely redid all the hardware(meaning screws, bolts, wiring harnesses) for all the major components in the system, it was fine, but you think they would check those things out before they resell them....so if you feel confident to open your system up when you buy it go for used, if you have no clue what a Phillips screwdriver is then i would say get a new one

I bought two PS3 60GB consoles from Gamestop. The first failed in about one week (luckily, because I had not bought a warranty), so I returned it and received another (Cost: $299.00, last year). I also bought the 1 yr warranty ($39.99), this time. This one worked well-I never had any problems until an ungrounded RF cable (Comcast's fault!) fried my HDTV and everything attached to it via HDMI cables. I had one week left on my warranty, so I brought the fried consoleiback to Gamestop. The 60 GB used consoles were not in stock (and had dropped in price to $229.00), Gamestop gave me a new PS3 320 GB Console Uncharted Bundle (Price $299.00) as an even exchange! I do miss being able to play PS2 games on the new console, but the tradeoff was worth it.
Incidentally, before buying the 60 GB console from Gamestop, I had bought the same console on EBay. During delivery, the US Postal Service dropped it, so USPS refunded me my cost plus $20. Gamestop took the damaged one as a trade-in towards their refurb console.
In summary, the 60 GB Console is good (preowned) and Gamestop's service is fantastic: Make sure you buy their warranty (this model has its fair share of bad luck!!)
