I have been wanting a PS3 for some time now and finally made the purchase at my local gamestop. I wanted this system for the backwards compatibility. I played it for 9 hours or so the first day, and on day 2 it lasted maybe an hour before 3 beeps and a little red blinking light. I question if their definition of "refurbished" means that they simply plugged it in, watched it power up, and put it on the shelf. I have a PS2 that I bought refurbished a little over a year ago, so I felt pretty comfortable buying this system also refurbished. I won't do that again. Day 3 I'm hoping the return policy is as it says it is on the back of the receipt. If so I'll add another $20 to the refund and get a new 160GB slim model and keep the old PS2 for playing PS2 games. I also recommend people do more research than I did, the bulkier models have a lot of issues relating to the system overheating.

It just needs a new blu-ray from Sony.

I also bought a PS3 from Gamestop and had the beeps and red light. I contacted Sony and paid to have it fixed by them. They replaced the blu ray player and it's working great several years later. I think it's worth it to keep the backwords compatability.

WOW i still remember the first day i got a ps3 it was 5 years ago august 2008 when it first came out sorry if im wrong all i know is it was summer and a long time ago. stil havent gave me problems yet and im still in love with it well i don't play it as much since i just got a 360 (just wrote a comment on it) but the ONLY problem i have is it will freeze time to time but hey ive had it for like 5 years and its just now staring to freeze time to time so that's all i want to say its a great system will never get old and will keep updating new things to it to keep the company fresh so if you dont have one by now i recommend you get one NOW but get the new one im just writing a comment on this beacuse i have this one i mean theres nothing wrong with this one i just recommend the new one but its up to you

I love this PS3 the fact that you can PS2 & PS1 games all on this PS3 is great. I still like to play PS 2 & PS1 games.

All i can say is that this systems is the number 1 cause is really awesome to keep playing my old ps2 games on my new system and i still play my ps2 games because there are some really cool games like god of war the first one and the second and the final fantasy games too they are really fun games for the ps2 my opinion is that you should get most ps2 games they fun and at this time they must be really cheap to buy and you also are able to get the newer games too so is like having 2 systems in one, my opinion is that you should buy it.
