I purchased this console way back in Feb 2007. I haven't had a single problem with it yet. I have upgraded the HD to 500 gigs and I put movies on there to play as well as store game data. This is not only a console but it is a media server as well. I liked it so much I bought a second one for my bedroom. ( I am to lazy to move the console based on where I want to play.) That console is the 60 gig as well. It hasn't given me an ounce of trouble either. I don't play my ps2 or ps1 games a lot but I love having the option on playing them whenever and not having to hook up another console. I will only play on this model of ps3. I would recommend it to anyone. Don't waste your money on the others that may be more quiet. This system truely does it all .. Just like the commercials say. Thanks.

I bought this refurbished system from GameStop about 3 years ago and have enjoyed every minute of use. I bought this particular model since I have many PS2 games and wanted the backward compatibility. Both PS2 and PS3 games display beautifully on my LCD TV, and the NetFlix and BluRay work great. However, I was surprised by the durability of the system. I keep it on top of a cabinet, so there is plenty of air circulation so I've never had a problem with overheating, even when I am playing a game for 12-16 hours at a time. But by keeping it in this location it was completely flooded by water when a pipe burst upstairs. I actually poured water out of the system and then let it dry out for a day before plugging it in again. I never had a problem. Everything worked just the same as before. That happened over a year ago and the system is still going strong.

I have heard so many people tellin me when you buy a Sony product, your mainly just buying the name, but I've always kinda felt that the quality of their products has generally been top notch from my past experience. Glad to hear your system is still going strong. One would tend to think that there is indeed some element of luck in what happened in your case, but so be it, & keep on gaming.

I Always Wanted a 60gb Ps3 so I traded my 80 with 2 usb ports in at gamestop. and i must say im am very pleased with the purchase .. I don't have no problems with it i play ps2 games n ps3 games no problem. but the only real main issue is that it gets hot very fast and the fan blows so loud . the fan is very loud , its annoying make sure you keep it in a cool room. you dont want to get the ylod . but so far so good .The ps3 60gb is the best ps3 ever build.

The second I get the system I plug it in and turn it on and the system has the YOLD. I have had nothing but problems with the online system.

Well you got the YLOD on a system model that is the most common with. Now for all the viewers who read this keep in mind Gamestop gives a 30 days on all products , So all you have to do is send it back and tell them it was a DEAD system. and they would refund you or replace the system for FREE. I bought my second 60 gig refurbished system from gamestop and never had a problem. my first system I bought from gamestop in 2006 it was the same model but brand new.
