there has never been a game even close to how good this game is, it has everything you would want in a rpg or shooter, i only hope that new vegas is half as good as this!

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers
one of the best things about fallout 3 is the game play/story mode. its an amazing game i sat on my bedroom floor playing it for like 6 hours the one thing that annoys me about it is how big the map is once you reach D.C. all war breaks loose so its worth the wait.
ONE TIP: CONSERVE YOUR AMMO!!!!!!!!

This is my favorite game ever I have been playing this since 2008 and it's now 2013 it is really fun it actually makes me feel like im in a wasteland I never get tired of exploring The Capital Wasteland killing of radiated animals and using V.A.T.S to blow off all my enemies body parts. this game is amazing all time favorite i recommend this game to everyone even if it's not your style give it a try.

This game is an utter masterpiece and thats probably actually an understatement it has amazing soundtracks same as the game that followed it both games have very similar graphics except for that new vegas has a more advenced color pallet.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers
when i saw the title i thought it was a fps but when i played it it was an rpg simulation type. it was a fun game but it was like Elder Scrolls but not as good. this game is only casual to me because there is nothing major going on in the game like gangs or riots only quietness around only 5 miles of dirty crumbled towns and the only real safe town Megaton.

Im speechless with how cheap this game was....first of all my friend told me about this game..and said it was amazing!so i tried it..its amazing! the free roam is spectacular...and one of my friends said he liked survival games but not like black ops zombies or something like that he wanted to free roam he didnt like minecraft survival..so we tried this..he loved it!...great game must buy survival free roam go to gamestop and buy!

Fallout 3 blew me away. The style, the graphics, the awesome leveling system made me fall in love with the series... I won't ramble on, but this game has some moments I will never forget. From Vault Boy to the amazing Tranquility Lane scene, this game left me stunned. Well, technically it never left me. I still replay it and replay it, and I tell you the game is ridiculously long. If you loved Oblivion or Skyrim or even New Vegas, you haven't lived until you played this game.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers
I'm just gonna point out that I compare every game I buy to this masterpiece of a game. It's 2012 and occasionally I pop this one in. It's got great music (GNR!!!), great combat, great characters, and even after 4 hours of playing, you realize that there is a whole bunch more ahead of you. No multiplayer, which is great because it would just ruin the entire point of playing one of the greatest games ever made. Bethesda, you rock and I cross my fingers that Fallout 4 stands up to the expectations that I had before New Vegas. (P.S. that game is really good!!!)

I must be honest, I have a major gripe with this game....the combat, gameplay and progression of this game all feel VERY slow for me personal tastes. The fact that I still rate this at a 8 overall shows how good the rest of the game was, even though it didn't click for me!!! What Fallout presented, was a well strung together design of storyline, mission, sidequests and easter egg style achievements in an open world type environment. It did all of the above so well!!! You could do the basics and finish the story in a relatively short time, or proceed with side quests and such that end up easily quadrupling your time and fun. The whole world feels very plausabile, and the grim setting of the setting is instantly realized through the graphic design. If you like Fallouts combat system, this is a perfect 10. Just not for me. Overall terrific game and would make a great addition for people looking to kill many days on a budget.

This is a truly great game. The graphics look pretty good for 2008. The gameplay can easily last you hundreds of hours. To compare, I would recommend fallout new Vegas more than fallout 3 because they have the same gameplay but new Vegas has cooler/more guns, better graphics, and more to explore.

First off the fallout series is one of the best games of all time. The fallout serious is better than the skyrim series by alot. This game never gets boring, theres hundreds of hours of quests and there is free-roam that never ends. The gameplay is great, sound is great, and the graphics aren't the best but there okay. If you didn't get your hands on fallout 3 get it today, your missing out on one amazing game.
