A nice, easy to use, controller!
PostedJuly 9, 2008
This is a great light gun controller, and I love its pistol like design. Its comfort level is very good, it has an easy grip, and its easy to hold onto. I also highly recommend this game for arcade shooting games, this kinda goes back to the comfort, but its way easier to pull the trigger on the perfect shot to just use the B button located on the back of the Wii remote. The responsiveness is excellent, The way the remote is placed in the perfect shot is great, because the Wii remote is facing directly at the T.V and sensor bar. My Perfect shot still works like I just bought it, too. And when your done, the Wii remote (and sometimes Nunchuck) will come out really easily. I think that this gun is the best light gun for the Wii, and I give it my recommendation!

I Love it!

At first, the perfect shot may look weak, but It works extremely well. It fits your Wii 'mote well, and holds it extremely stable. The biggest gripe I have here is about the Wii strap, which you can have it stick out (what I do because I'm lazy), or you need to remove the strap and tie it back in when your finished. It's comfortable, not extremely, but it is comfortable, and fits your hand well. It is designed well, with the Wii 'mote fitting well, and for games that need a Nunchuck, you can plug it into the bottom of the gun. One design problem is the fact that it's hard to press buttons on the Wii mote, unless you hold the bottom with one hand and grab the top with the other. But, with games that work with the zapper, this will work the same, if not, better. It is pretty durable, and it is not flimsy or easily breakable by any means. Functionality wise, it does its job, and it does it well, aiming well, and the trigger works really well. Responsiveness, it responds to everything you do, and it works well. With all of this said, I would not use this for games that don't work with the Wii zapper (like Metroid Prime 3) because they usually require button pushing. But for games that don't use the buttons often, like ghost squad, it works perfectly.

Nice Gun!!
PostedJune 24, 2008
I must admit... I wasn't sure about another accessory I would be dissappointed in, but I gave it a shot ( no pun intended). This gun works every bit as good as it should. The Perfect Shot is built well and the balance is nice with the remote in it. The Perfect Shot fairly comfortable, although I wish it were a bit bigger in the grip. It is actually a good design, it's nice to see something work the way it is supposed to. I like using it over the other gun accessories I've bought for my system which were, in my opinion.... junk. If you are thinking about getting a gun accessory , the Perfect Shot is a safe bet. I would recommend it to anyone, it is great for shooters! I thought that the Perfect Shot was a great product and a great value for the price!

Not quite as advertised...
PostedJune 11, 2008
I bought the standard Wii Zapper before this pistol grip. Using the "official" Zapper as a baseline for comparison, there are some ups and some downs to the Perfect Shot. It's a fairly good attempt, but it doesn't quite deliver on its promises. I'll start by analyzing how well the Perfect Shot lives up to its advertised expectations, then move on to the ratings categories. Ergonomic Grip: True, it is a pistol grip, but no more ergonomic than any other pistol grip, going back to the original Nintendo Zapper. It has similar style to a real pistol, but doesn't have the molded grip of some of the newer and higher-end firearms. Tactile Trigger: Standard pistol-grip trigger. It has a pretty good feel to it, with a fairly satisfying pull. The trigger-guard is a nice touch, keeping in line with the pistol theme. Pass-Through Port: It's there. It works. This should be standard on any Wii accessory, especially on a "gun" grip, since the Wii Remote doesn't provide a reasonable means of accessing any of it's buttons (other than the B trigger button) when attached to a grip. My only complaint is that the accessory cable tends to be a bit awkward. Stylish Decor: I will agree that the color scheme is a good match for the standard Wii look-and-feel... So long as you haven't applied any after-market or accessory skins. If you use a skin on your console and/or remote, you're almost certain to run into a color clash. One final note on the decor: The advertised "sight" on the back of the gun is just that: decor. It won't help you aim, especially with it's position at the rear: Ideally, a sight should have elements placed as far apart along the length of the gun as possible (the NES Zapper implemented this very well, with the iron sights at the very back and at the end of the barrel). This sight is a flat, vertical piece at the very back, making it next to useless as an actual sight. The Wii Zapper actually works better as a sight, since you can line up the A button on top of the remote with a notch in the Zapper casing. This actually wouldn't be a hard thing to improve, if you feel comfortable gluing things to the Perfect Shot: Just add a second sighting element to the orange "latch" on the front of the gun. Now on to the ratings: Comfort: Not really that comfortable. It's very well balanced until you put the Remote in. Once you have it all set up, though, it's very front heavy. I've never handled an actual firearm before, but I imagine that they might be front heavy. Unfortunately, your average sidearm is built for effectiveness; not comfort. This arrangement makes the Perfect Shot a lot tougher on the wrist, and requires more force than the Wii Zapper, which has a somewhat more balanced bull-pup SMG-like design. If you have a strong wrist, you can probably track more quickly than with the Perfect Shot, but it takes more force, and doesn't offer the same level of control. Design: There are some significant design flaws. Cosmetically, it's a very good design, but it's definitely a situation of form before function. Durability: I worry slightly about that orange swinging thing on the front, but it's probably more durable in the long run than the latch for the Nunchuck at the back of the Zapper. Personally, it was uncomfortable enough that I only used it once, and have no empirical basis to to form any informed opinion of long-term durability. Functionality: This is where the Perfect Shot really falls short: It seems like the designers designed a gun-shaped shell, and added functionality as an afterthought. The remote is placed at the extreme front, making it more unbalanced an unwieldy than most pistol designs for other systems (including historical systems), which makes it hard to get used to. Sighting is next to impossible, with the "sight" tacked on like a cosmetic afterthought and with nothing that would allow for any sort of parallax sighting. And with no place to attach a laser sight, that m
