Best Performance
PostedSeptember 10, 2011
This console's specific characteristics is what makes it better than the current slim models. Such as:
Ability to play PS2
Larger cooling fan
Faster
Plus all the current firmware features of the Slim Model.
And the fact that every Gamestop refurbished console is carefully tested by professional gamers before being put up to sale ensures that the PS3 is a 100% guarantee

Information is wrong....
onMay 12, 2014
"Larger fan" Actually all of the orignal model ps3 are known for overheat, Iv had it happen twice...
"faster"
"The new PS3 Slim certainly is thinner and lighter than the outgoing original launch form factor PS3, but has the new packaged gained any athleticism thanks to its new build?
If the results from a user-performed test are to believed, the PS3 Slim is slower than the old model when it comes to system boot times and loading of Blu-ray Disc movies, but the newer console comes out ahead when it's time to game.
A limited edition Metal Gear Solid 4 80 GB PlayStation 3 was pitted against one of the new 120 GB PS3 Slims. The older PS3 held a significant 7 second lead in terms of Blu-ray movie loading, while the new PS3 Slim loaded Batman: Arkham Asylum just a couple seconds quicker."
"From this test, however, it seems that unless you plan to be using a PlayStation 3 as just a Blu-ray Disc player, the new one is a more efficient gaming machine."
Sure that was just one test, but Iv never heard anything about the old ps3's being faster ( and I own a new super slim and the oringal launch 20gb console)
I also know more about this topic then I should...
"Ability to play ps2" Thats somewhat true, this ps3 can play ps2 games but it emulates them and such isn't a full ps2 player like the older 20/60gb ps3's.
Hope this helps you buyers!

PS3 IS BETTER THAN XBOX
PostedSeptember 7, 2011
PS3 IS WAY BETTER THAN XBOX. IF YOU BUY YOU WON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR ONLINE . YOU COULD PLAY FOR 3 HOURS AND IT WON'T OVERHEAT.

PS3 is just a prefrence.

I own all 3 current gen consoles & I would have to disagree with your statements. The ones about "the 360 will over-heat & the online is free, so it's better." 1st of all the 360 hasn't had console issues since 2009. 2nd, PSN is a pretty cool network, it's simple & best of all free to play online. But it is NOT better than Xbox Live, not even close. Specially with the new 2012 update on their network. When you compare the two in terms of community, media, overall online experience, etc, etc. PSN looks like an app for a smart phone compared to Xbox Live. So get a PS3 cause you prefer their software & you prefer their products. But not because you wanna say the new 360's are flawed or cause you claim PSN is better than Live. Cause it's not true.

GREAT PRODUCT
PostedSeptember 7, 2011
The reason why I like this ps3 is that it is not too old, I agree that it isn't the newest one but it still isn't the oldest one. Anyway, the reason why I like this ps3 is that it has great performance. I had this ps3 for almost 3 years now, nothing happened to it. The hard drive didn't fail it didn't get a yellow light of death. It works perfectly fine. i recommend buying this ps3. If you want to spend your money more because you think that the ps3 slim looks better, and I agree with you, I would still buy this ps3 still, because you get to save between 80 and 120 dollars, and with this money you cold buy either two brand new games or one game and a controller.. Have fun playing this system.

I love my PS3!
onDecember 30, 2011
I have the first generation 80 gig and I love it! I did not buy it from gamestop but I seen someone say this is not a good model and I would have to highly disagree. I'm sure if you don't clean your system and your life revolves around playing it then yeah it might get the yellow light of death after 9 months of beating. I personally play my PS3 15-30 hours a week usually 3-4 hours a night a few nights a week and dust it out once every 6 months really well and it works like new.

PS3 OVR XBOX360
PostedAugust 24, 2011
The PS3 overall is a good system, but I really am getting out of the phase of playing a lot of video games so its a drag for me that i bought it. I think though that if you want a great system that the PS3 is the way to go, seeing as how my 360 is still working((with the extra fan i bought for it) i am selling it because it can not live up to my PS3 and even though i don't play my games much when i do i turn my PS3 on and play GTA 4,. THIS PS3 IS BACKWARDS COMPATABLE

PSN

Your downloaded content is never lost if you purchased anything from PSN...you just have to look in history from the account management...There you look through all of transactions...any downloads with a red Sony symbol will indicate which products you have downloaded before..also most content can be shared up to 5 different systems too.
