Never Again
PostedAugust 20, 2011
My second PS3 just died…And Xbox gets a bad rep. My gen1 Xbox still works; heck, my Atari still works perfectly. 2 PS3's, identity compromised... and by the way did you know if you upgrade your hard drive, you can not redownload movies and videos purchased on PSN; I will never buy another Sony product again. Even the supposed "cheaply made" Wii outlived 2 PS3's. I am counting my losses and selling all Sony products. I vote with my dollar, and they will never see another vote from me.

Does it last?

This was my first ever PS3. I had it for a year and a half before it crashed with the RSOD. (Red Screen Of Death.) I don't plan on shipping to SONY for $150. I am switching to the $100 Xbox Arcade. I am not betraying my fellow PS3ers, This is temporary. Until I get enough money for a PS3 slim, I will be back. Overall, this system is good and runs smoothly for a while. You Can depend on it for a while, but don't work it too hard when it starts to get older.

My first PS3
PostedAugust 3, 2011
I bought this system as a Christmas gift to myself in 2007. It was my first next gen console, and I was happy with it. The graphics were great, and I rarely experinced any problems with it. The problems I did experience, however, were lack of memory and the fact that this is easily damaged. Games like Metal Gear Solid 4, Resident Evil 5, and Bioshock consume anywhere between 4-6 gigabytes of memory so you can't own too many of those games. I usually had around 15 for it, but sometimes I'd have to give one up so I could make room on the hard drive for another one. Also, this system is easily scratched. I took VERY good care of mine and it still managed to get quite a few scratches. Lastly, when I finally took it to GameStop to trade for the new slim it short circuited or something and would no longer work, even though it had worked perfectly right before I left to turn it in.

I have had my ps3 (40GB) since my ninth birthday... That was 4 years ago! And it still runs like a champ. I am upgrading to a better version soon and this seems like the one 4 me. X-Box 360s only work for so long until the catch on fire, explode or get the red ring of death. Geta this, it is epic.
